The WSJ is a partner in the same club as the NYT, WaPo or any of the other MSM outfits. Just because they focus on business doesn't mean they don't operate using the same standards, or lack thereof, as their cohorts. Amazing the people I know who cite the WSJ as unimpeachable for news. One chap I know claimed for years Wuhan Charlie came from wet markets because that's what the WSJ and business TV said.

Goldman spent most his time trading stocks online rather than doing Congressmen stuff.

Putting the grid undergound is about 4x the cost of overhead and the cable only lasts for 15-20 years then needs to be replaced. Overhead wire if sized correctly for ampacity will last 80-100 years. Wood poles will last 50-75 years.
I saw 30 year old underground cable last week. I still occasionally see 60 year old pilc cable in service (yikes).

The problem in hurricane land is that we have power outages over half the state for a week after a big storm because a tree branch is sitting on a line. If you get those lines underground, every hurricane recovery is much easier and faster. Then of course for the area of direct impact you have to rebuild the entire overhead distribution, which takes weeks or even months for a bad storm. We should absolutely have underground distribution here in Florida.

Meanwhile our major utility companies are making so much money that they are creating programs to finance capital projects so they can report less profits.

This fucks the vaccines

Come on guys, we have waited a long time to take back over and y’all are willing to jump ship because you haven’t seen enough arrests in 100 days. Y’all are better than that. Tighten up!

I'm just calling balls and strikes. And I'll continue to do so until the criminals are held accountable and Trump's EOs are codified. Until then, everything is absolute bullshit. Not sure how that qualifies as "jumping ship".

@Rebarcock have steel prices started coming down at all?
Peak was around 2022. Creeping g down since. Currently steel is comparable to prob 2017 or so I'd guess. I'm driving so not in front of cpu. The tariffs won't matter a hill of beans in construction. The tariffs will hit more finished products. And raw steel or aluminum is available in USA. That shit material was used by scumbags and market whores. If there is no discount to buy foreign then they'll buy American too.

Yeah there's some old cable out there for sure. I was more stating manufacturers recommendation without cable cure injections.

I've been to some good hurricanes Rita, Ike, Wilma, I much prefer storm restoration in the south as opposed to the north east. A bunch of A$$holes in the north east.

The public's trust in vaccines was decimated by Pfizer and others during Wuhan Charlie. The public's trust in medicine was also given the authoritarian Nazi-like edicts forced on people.

worth a watch. Ben is the dude that has been predicting the pole flip. He says the solar panels took in way more voltage due to a weak spot in the magnetic field above Europe. The surge caused the cascading failure. He predicted this would start around 2030 so he says it's moving faster than he thought. Don't forget the earthquake outbreak around Italy a couple months ago... Earth's core is acting up and our shield is weakening.

Soooo, we’re all gonna die sooner rather than later?

FL is mostly sandy soil. Cost to dig lines would be cheap. I'd agree in most states it wouldn't make sense monetarily but Fl, Cali, Gulf O A states... it makes huge sense.

I thought the talking heads had said gas prices have gone down significantly since Trump's election. I went by my normal gas station yesterday. A gallon was $2.48. Two hours later, the price had rising to $2.99.
Yeah same happened in SC yesterday and it is already back to 2.56. Been some crazy swings like that. Normally you can look to geopolitical issues. Not sure what happened yesterday

Tell me if I am wrong, but cant he declare marshal Law which would last 120 days and let the military just round them all up and deport them. I was told it would bypass the courts
This is possible but: I can't recall the order/law but it is nearly impossible to use the military domestically. There would have to be wartime declarations(which we believe there are) or emergency declarations pertaining to disasters.

My buddy was a VP at scana before they sgit the bed on the nuclear reactors(he is still employed by dominion)
He is the one who told me it is cost prohibitive in the south. They will bury sometimes around ports and hospitals but to think you can bury lines in metros or rural areas is either cost prohibitive bc cutting and relaying concrete or is too expansive (rural transmissions) they would do it if they could work the cost out. Now the man power to accomplish is just to high.
