I asked a question about military medals. At the Senate and House intelligence committees hearing, the generals had large round medals in weird places on their uniform. I have either never seen it or noticed before. It looked weird to me, so I asked a question about what they were.
If they are on the pocket, they are likely chairman of the joints, staff medallions or something to the like, but all metals across all branches are the same exact size. They do not have different sizes for metals. However, they do have miniature metals that are worn on different types of uniforms for different occasions such as a mess dress uniform

Was asked a question about GO/FO wearing medals during testimony. The only service that I know of that wears large medals is the USMC. But didn't see a picture so I will give a 75% chance I am wrong.
those would be badges on the pockets, not medals. although they can look like the medals that the Russians or North Koreans wear. Joint Staff, Air Staff, Army Staff etc.

I think you are correct. The medals given in the Navy are the exact size as medals in other services. Purple Heart is the same size, as are bronze stars, silver stars, commendation medals, unit citation medals, campaign medals, national defense service medal and all others. The medals on pockets and other places signify unique positions such as Chairman of the Joint Chiefs. It would be silly to make those different sizes for each branch.
