Copy and I’ve seen that. There are some nuances in the DoD, however. The gaining non-federal organizations have to agree, as well. Huge conflict of interest when there are possibilities that the Fed agency still has the purview to “task the employee”. And it’s up to the agency. Also, the agency has to approve the scenario (including the JAG). So while this is a cool feature for someone let’s say in the IRS, a cleared DoD employee more than likely won’t get to enjoy the double dip (unless the go work for Wal-mart).

There’s also the legal implications of the budgets and policies.

VISP hurdle - max allocations are currently set to $40K for DoD and $25K for everyone else. Agencies typically on the hook for that cost and it must be offered by agency (not OPM). Anticipate lawsuits.

CR hurdle - how are they funding this until Sept when the 2025 CR hasn’t been approved? Missing fine print on what happens if budget doesn’t come through?

Lots of risks IMHO for people thinking this is legit. I’m tuned in tho.

To answer the CR question: if the government shuts down, they will receive their back pay, just as they have every time it has ever happened. Would I do it? Only if I was planning on quitting in September anyway. It just means less work during that time period, nothing more.

Plausible that during the fueling some jet fuel was spilled on the tarmac. The jet fuel fumes got into the cabin of the plane when the passenger doors were open while it was being refueled. You have all smelled the strong odor of the fuel when you have been on a plane during boarding.

When the patient was boarded onto the plane, and if they required oxygen, the oxygen mask would removed before the boarding steps. The patient would be loaded and the supplies including bags and oxygen tank/tanks. Maybe the oxygen was not turned off during during the boarding process and oxygen was released in the small cabin before the mask was placed on the patient.

After take off, any small spark would become a an explosion in a sealed environment containing jet fuel fumes and oxygen. Maybe a faulty speaker wire sparked when the pilot triggered the in flight initial announcement. Possible static electricity spark.

The concussive force of this explosion would concuss all humans in the sealed environment. No place for the pressure to release. Such a force would break every eardrum and render everyone unconscious. If happening in the main cabin the force would also push toward the cockpit and knock the pilots forward and unconscious. They would push the flight yoke forward creating a dive from the pre-dive explosion.

Copy that. I’m thinking even more long game tho. There is no fine print on this deal - just some FAQs from OPM. I can see them totally back tracking the whole deal based on the next budget. Nothing is in writing.

I can see this happening late March - “Oh so sorry guys - we don’t have the money for this handshake deal after all. Oh well - thanks for your service - good luck!”
