The guy in the tower heard something unusual looked down to see the deceased's hard-hat fly literally 50 yards away. He said it's bad and he's seen a lot. The coroner has a messy job.

My question is this:
Do I also need a coinbase wallet to hold the purchase in or is my acct on coinbase ok unless they go belly up?

That is correct you can keep them on Coinbase but if they go belly-up you are toast.

If you want the best protection you need to get your own cold-storage wallet.
