The point Paul is making here is that Christian parents shouldn’t discourage their children so badly that they are so frustrated that they say fuck it and walk away from the faith.
It doesn’t imply no discipline or light discipline. It is Godly to discipline the ever-living shit out of your kids. But do it out of a place of true love - even if it is harsh.
Children should always be reminded to honor their mother and father, and as the Godhead of the household that decision is yours to make.
My editorial - western women have been duped into thinking that they are Godheads.
