Those hypersonic missiles with multiple warheads are extremely expensive. Also very hard to defend from over a short distance. They travel too fast.

They will be used rarely. This use was Russia responding with the best they have. Like one bullet in a Colt 44. Russia might have 5 left. They wont use many, if any, on this war.

Russia has had a money problem for a long time. This war against Ukraine is Putin’s last chance. And it already has hurt his standing. He will be gone before Trump term ends. Even if peace is negotiated. Putin has degraded Russia.

The biggest concern is who replaces him? The replacement will come from internal. Not in a fake election. The new president will be selected by
FSB (Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation) and the SVR (Foreign Intelligence Service).
