Pat Flood (@rebarcock) passed away 9/21/25. Pat played a huge role in encouraging the devolopmemt of this site and donated the very first dollar to get it started. Check the thread at the top of the board for the obituary and please feel free to pay your respects there. I am going to get all the content from that thread over to his family so they can see how many people really cared for Pat outside of what they ever knew. Pat loved to tell stories and always wanted everyone else to tell stories. I think a great way we can honor Pat is to tell a story in his thread (also pinned at the top of the board).

Got our puppies last Saturday, so we have had them for 5 days now and they both have picked their person. We have no idea what the criteria was in their selections, but funny how each picked one suited to his own temperament.

I joked about moving to Texas (from Michigan) to my wife a few months ago. She sent me a house last night. Unlikely that we make the move but she seems to be more OK with it now than she was previously.

I was very torn about getting the vaccine for a long time and tried doing as much research as I could about it but honestly I could find very little that I felt was unbiased. I happened to mention my dilemma to a friend who's wife unbeknownst to me majored in molecular genetics in college and is very knowledgeable about the vaccine, how it works, and the processes that Pifzer and Moderna used to come up with it. She is not working for any company that has anything to benefit from the vaccine. After talking to her for 45 minutes, I felt very confident about getting the vaccine, and I have had both shots. I had no reaction at all to either. I don't expect this to change anyone's mind but that's my $.02

My wife up and decided to get it yesterday. Kinda disappointed but that’s her choice and not mine. We’ve both agreed my 11 year old son is NOT getting it and I will NOT budge from this at all.
I don’t struggle with the decision not to because, to me, there is greater unknown about the vaccines than China Virus. I’m healthy, eat good, and take Vitamin D, C, and Zinc and will let my body do the rest.
This virus can be deadly for some but is not near deadly enough for me to justify injecting unknown and irreversible chemicals into my body.
I am fearful of restrictions on travel for those not vaccinated. Hopefully that doesn’t happen.
