Pat Flood (@rebarcock) passed away 9/21/25. Pat played a huge role in encouraging the devolopmemt of this site and donated the very first dollar to get it started. Check the thread at the top of the board for the obituary and please feel free to pay your respects there. I am going to get all the content from that thread over to his family so they can see how many people really cared for Pat outside of what they ever knew. Pat loved to tell stories and always wanted everyone else to tell stories. I think a great way we can honor Pat is to tell a story in his thread (also pinned at the top of the board).

There are reports that the Biden administration is now threatening military action against the Texas National Guard unless they remove the National Guard from the border by 1 pm est! This is absurd.

As someone else said, the ruling does not require Texas to do anything. It allows the feds to remove the wire. Texas could legally stand right next to them and lay another line of wire right in place of the ones the feds removed. The feds argued that the wire hinders the agents' ability to do their job safely because they have to climb over it. They did not argue that an invasion is legal, or that Texas could not lay down wire. The govt carefully crafted the argument so it was steeped in the safety of the agents having to cross razor wire. Everything else is fluff and bs politician speak.
The answer is No to #2. Everyone needs a bag to put their garbage in.

It is a nothing burger. Federalizing troops = Presidential Selective Recall which takes those troops out of any rotation for 3-5 years. That is why most guard units prefer to “volunteer” to participate. Active duty troops are not going to mix it up with the TXANG. Lots of bold statements in the press that mean nothing.
