Pat Flood (@rebarcock) passed away 9/21/25. Pat played a huge role in encouraging the devolopmemt of this site and donated the very first dollar to get it started. Check the thread at the top of the board for the obituary and please feel free to pay your respects there. I am going to get all the content from that thread over to his family so they can see how many people really cared for Pat outside of what they ever knew. Pat loved to tell stories and always wanted everyone else to tell stories. I think a great way we can honor Pat is to tell a story in his thread (also pinned at the top of the board).

What you're going to see is companies and others continuing to require masks and distancing for some time--perhaps from now on. They will be "required" to do so by their insurance companies or see large premium increases. Over the years we've seen many routine things vanish because of insurance requirements.

Asking for voter id laws fundamentally isn't suppressing the vote, it is giving the population the assurance that the vote is legit. This sets up such an interesting dichotomy that I was considering just this morning.... Imaginary conversation with a liberal (it is imaginary as I don't usually argue with liberals):
I am asking you to show id to make me "FEEL comfortable" with the vote. I want assurance that I am being represented by the person who was legitimately elected as this has an impact on my life.
You ask me to wear a mask to make you "FEEL Comfortable" going out in public. You want to be assured that I am doing what I can to not impact your life.
You can not reeeeee about one and embrace the other. That's not how this works. Each requires an extra step on the other's part, an incremental loss of "freedom or liberty", yet yours is so much more important than mine?
The hypocrisy is just mind numbing at this point. How did we get like this?

Correct. Russia Hoax investigation continues. John Solomon has interviewed witnesses and defense attorneys who all think it is essentially wrapped up and any indictments will happen this month. That sounds to me like a lot of deals were made with lower level people to take down some at the top.
