I was 99% sure that the constitution would be the first thing that came to mind. It was mine. and 100% of the others I asked personally this week. After all it is what we were taught in school. Fed by the media and political speech.

Imagine if that was true. That would mean that our rights, our power would come from a document that is amendable. Obviously if the 18th amendment can be repealed, so can the 1st or 2nd.

Yall are correct that it tells the government not to infringe on certain basic rights. It specifically states that the powers not listed in the constitution are to be retained by the states or the people. So basically it is an outline of the power the people consent for it to have, how it must function, and it’s duties to protect the people’s rights. Not a law to give us our rights.

Are we born with rights? Yes. Ok what rights are we born with? How do we know what rights we have? Under British rule, did were we born with these rights? No, we weren’t. Not until every man was declared sovereign “assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature's God entitle them”. In this declaration our rights are “endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.”

As far as the government goes, “That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the CONSENT of the governed, That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it”.

Our rights are declared in the Declaration of Independence. The government is only granted power by our consent. If it gets out of hand, remove consent.

Go back and read the Declaration of Independence, it’s not a long read. Specifically the grievances listed against the British. You will then understand that our current government does not recognize us a sovereign.
 
I don’t watch Fox TV anymore occasionally I will go to the website for quick news. I saw some of this posted earlier. Trump absolutely destroys McConnell and the governor of Georgia. I think Trump is 100% right. This is a good article

I have a feeling he will run again for president and win in four years or have a great amount of influence who will win. I also feel pretty certain Laura Trump will be replacing that rino As a North Carolina senator soon
Nothing short of military action is going to change things. If the military does not do its duty and get involved and destroy the deep state our country is finished.
It will not matter in 4 years. Even if it did and Trump ran and got 120 million votes , he would have the election stolen from him and us. Short of being taken out or imprisoned the deep state has won. Nothing can change that now but the military

That is why I never understood why Trump did not take Soros and several others out the first day he was in office. I know people would have blamed him and they would not have understood but the hell with that. Look where we are

I don't think this is a bad interpretation at all. Most of the Founders believed the Constitution should be interpreted by using the Dec of Independence and a 'master guide'.

I'd go one step further and suggest the Dec of Ind is not all encompassing and that it only laid out those rights and ideas specific to the goals the Founders were trying to achieve.

The review and alteration process for the Dec was lengthy and many sections were removed from the original document because it was believed that King would respond more reasonably.

The Dec, just like the Constitution, as you pointed out is simply a document created by man in an attempt to describe the functioning parts of our universe (a universe created and 'defined' by our creator).
 
What has been the Feds reaction to the Texas/south tragedy? Haven't seen anything. Or since they didn't vote for Joe, tough shit. I remember praise to Trump from Newsome on the fires and Covid, idiot Cuomo got everything he wanted and more.
Trump supports need to be exterminated remember?

Surprised we aren't hearing more about how evil citizens are who heat their homes via fracking...

I don’t understand this. To me it seems like at the very least c-17’s could parachute in fire wood/propane heaters etc. What is so hard to help out Americans in desperate need?!


I’m in Tennessee and our heater went out earlier this week with temperatures around the 0 mark. Nobody can fix it till Friday. We are lucky that our upstairs unit is working and that is where the kids sleep. We have not lost power. I have tried my best not to complain because Texas is in such bad shape. We are very fortunate in retrospect.
