I don't have a single lib friend and don't even want to attempt to have one as a friend. I see, in a lib, a person who has cost me a over a year of not seeing my kids and my granddaughters like I would normally. Scum of the earth in all aspects IMO.
Same. But unfortunately for me, my niece was indoctrinated at uga and voted for Biden. She majored in international business and must have had some “woke” professors. Proudly, my daughter is graduating from Auburn in May with a political science degree and is still a conservative. I’m just incredibly disappointed in my sister and her ex husband for not making sure their daughter had a solid foundation before sending her to that liberal cesspool.

Most major academic institutions are very liberal. Georgia and Florida are in the top 20 college public schools for education. Most of the students at Georgia are white and conservative. The professors are very liberal and they are at most schools. Maybe not some small schools but for sure most major institutions

Don’t be mad because the University of Georgia has beaten the cow town that is Auburn 13 out of the last 16 Times. 😜
Also most people that go to Auburn could not get into Georgia. And then they leave Auburn and move back to Georgia.

Do you live in Georgia? Athens And it’s suburbs are a great place to live not so sure about Auburn.

I like you and I like your posts but when you call my home a cesspool you had a nerve and I disagree with you. Athens has been voted a top 100 place to live in the country many times

I do agree with you with the fact I think it’s really up to parents to set a good foundation for their children when they are at home. There are bad influences all around this world from colleges to cities to evil people etc.

This woman popped up on my YouTube feed this came from seven years ago. Looks like she’s always been an idiot

Also I think it’s interesting how YouTube says this channel is directly related to Russia but yet they will never say anything about the Democrats and China
View attachment 7131

She's always been a blithering idiot and a known liar.

Not spin... just flat out lies.

Unless you accuse me of being a liar, cheater or a thief, or attempt to hurt me or my family or my close friends, I am pretty much your friend on some level. I do understand too that there are plenty of people directly hurt by this administration- armed forces being deployed, Covid victims, people who worked on the Keystone Pipeline, etc., etc. and I understand that these people have a right to be angry. I'm just trying not to go around angry at all the injustices I see, because there are a lot of injustices and a lot of opportunity to be angry.

As far I work with a couple of libs. My 21 and 25 year old daughters are libs. The 25 YO's boyfriend's parents are libs. I have cousins, aunts uncles, in-laws, etc. that are libs. I also have plenty of friends that are to the right of @MortgageHorn but the majority fall in between. It takes all types to make the world go around and unless somebody comes at me directly, I'm just not going to spend time worrying about their politics and whether or not they are scum.
Appreciate the context, always good to hear someone else dealing with close family etc and also trying to get people to wake up.

I posted last Aug in the prior thread, when moving my twin daughters (now almost 20) back to college I saw they had an Antifa sticker. I had a choice to make, we’re really close (were) but always knew they and friends were Lib, so always stayed away from all that to focus on what we did have in common.

Long story short, I had to confront them and they were defensive...at very least sympathetic to antifa and big supporters of BLM. That didn’t go well with me and I told them they were being manipulated and there was a lot they don’t know about the real world...discernment is something they needed to learn. I apologized the next day for my tone and “that it hurt them” and asked to meet to hear them out. We haven’t spoken in 6 months. I’m certain they now think I’m a racist etc because I spoke out. I lifted the veil, and despite having given them a great life, I'm the enemy. It’s both crazy and heartbreaking but I can’t fix that until the climate changes. But as a father, I couldn't live with the alternative of being silent...you can never never regret being true to your beliefs.

Point being, you can’t have “real” relationships today if you’re not able to be honest, and yet if you’re honest, you lose relationships. It’s a really tough place to be with your kids, friends and family. Fvck these people who have spent decades to intentionally do this to the fabric of our whole society. 😡 /rant

Right now the country's best utility grid ERCOT yes Texas has it's own grid ;) is announcing rolling blackouts due to the winter storm:

Two Observations:

1. For once it's good to be downtown - I can assure you that with Chase Tower just around the corner and that is where all their bond-trading is done along with all the computers running the nation's energy business - I will not be participating in said black-outs

2. More importantly when the GOAT can't handle an 18 hour ice storm how in the hell do these "Green-Energy Morons" think we are going all electric cars in 10 Years?

I was liberal when I came out of college and my parents were as solidly conservative then as I am now.

We would all be a lot better off if we kept from judging our family and friends, especially over politics. Don’t give in to the media attempts to divide.

I hope you ripped up the tuition check, repossessed the cars you may have bought for them, kicked them off your insurance, canceled their credit cards, and removed any future inheritance due to them.

Tough love is your only option.

Brother you're nothing if not consistent - I love it. If they were boys, I'd do it in a heartbeat. With all the things that stay with daughters about how their dad treated them, notwithstanding there's no perfect answer here, I'm just letting them have what they asked for....silence. To go aggressive in teaching them a lesson, I don't think that would allow them to really learn...they'd just always say their dad became a jerk, I'd fall right into their Trumper narrative.

BUT, one of them just totaled their car they share last month - and now they're stuck at college and know they can't come back to me to fix everything - so effectively I've taken their car and removed them from my insurance per your advice! I'm legally required by divorce agreement to pay for their college and healthcare btw ;)

They need to grow up...I'm 'trusting the plan'.

Man you and I are on the same path. The sooner you hold them accountable for everything the better it is. Wish I had learned that sooner rather than later.

Your point #1 has no basis in reality. This is not limited to ERCOT and has everything to do with fuel supply in these extreme conditions — not electricity delivery points. Your point #2 is spot on.

My friend, tread lightly. You know, the whole “happy wife = happy life” adage. If said wifey friend is dead set in her ways, then there is absolutely no point in heeding her request. However, if there is any chance of red pilling, then let her come stay. JMO

There's ALWAYS a chance of redpilling. Find common ground. Be subtle. Pick your battles. Divided we are weak. United we are strong. Some just haven't woke up yet.

If you make this stand, you'll just reinforce her pre-conceived notions of conservatives. Doesnt really help anyone. Unless you're weak-willed, or can't control your temper, I'd let her stay. Humanize conservatives to her, and maybe she'll humanize liberals to you as well. JMHO
