Buy him his own helmet. That was the one thing I insisted on when he started junior high. Max wears a Riddell speedflex. We send it in after the season to have it inspected and reconditioned (He's o his 3rd helmet because of growth and rules. It's well worth the money.)
Max's first # was 12. He wore 87 for a couple of years for his dad. That was his # when he played for the same team way back when. Got to high school and switched to 17 for his older sisters. They were all born on the 17th.
First game, 2nd grade :
After the first game of this year. They won the opening game for the first time in 7 years.
Edit to add: we don't have a 2nd grade team. He played as a 2nd grader on the 3/4 team. Best decision we every made to let him play that young, but not something I recommend for every kid. He needed that outlet and he truly wanted to play. He had no fear and wanted to. If he had wanted to quit at any time, we would have supported him. His first love is and always will be football with lacrosse being a very close second. He's chosen to play lacrosse in college because the risk of injury is lower and he's looking at more than going to school to play a sport. So, Friday night? He's done.
