Being remote and farming offers only so much protection. If we get real food shortages, gangs of starving people will come to loot and kill. It would take less than a week for the big cities to collapse and the country to fall into anarchy. It'd be a post-apocalyptic movie without the heroic ending.Sounds like I'm gonna have to learn to live off the land asap. I bought myself/family 21 acres in East Texas last summer. Maybe time to move out there and make it the homestead now, instead of in 5 years as is the current plan.
You are west of the Mississippi R. Big bonus, Do the tank of gas exercise. How far can they travel on 1 tank of gas? It is shocking when you do this exercise. In AR inside the 300M circle around my home there lived 8M people.Being remote and farming offers only so much protection. Damn, sounds like that Crash Test Dummies song.True story. Know a guy who took the vaccine and his hair started to fall out. He had brown hair but when it finally did grow back it was completely grey and has been ever since.
These People Are Sick

I looked at those pumps, they have a solar package for that brand. If the well is too deep the solar package for anything over 1Hp motor is very expensive. In which case don' go solar. Get a storage tank and a gas or diesel generator to run your existing 1Hp plus pump.
I Don't Think for Good - I Think He Was Called to Do Something More Than GoodI guess @Bryan74b is gone for good?

How far can a person walk in 3 days without food and water?
Lines of drift? Choke points.
Lot of things to examine.
Also a 3 liter tin of olive oil is cheap and has 24k calories.
Need some more recommendations on food variety that will last without refrigeration. This fall, definitely everyone who got the booster but the jabbed will start getting full blown aids.
All these things are coming to a head at the same time.
I am getting chickens. Will keep a 6 month supply of food for them and I have 150 lbs so far of dried beans and rice for my family. Probably going to buy more dried food stuff while I can.
Need some more recommendations on food variety that will last without refrigeration.
I have been accumulating things that I may eventually eat anyway. Some may not be an item of choice but it’s something.
Meat
Have canned chicken and canned tuna
Tried canned ground beef but not very good
Canned tamales are okay
Haven’t eaten it in forever but bought dinty Moore beef stew
Variety of soups with meat
Assorted pastas and sauce
Rice
Beans (dry and canned)
Powdered/dry milk
All sorts of canned veggies
Ghee (instead of butter) keeps at room temp
Any more ideas appreciated
Some of the sauces and dry milk have late ‘23 datesHow Long Does All That Canned Meat/Soups Last?

The wife when she was alive, was baking bread from 23 year old wheat stored in #10 cans. Some of the sauces and dry milk have late ‘23 dates
The canned veggies are ‘24
I think if things happen it will be before then. If food shortages prolong over 3 months I’m not sure the country survives.

And even 50MM+, you are only good in the short-term.I think it’s a concerted effort by the cabal to destroy the $$ as the world’s default currency and destroy the global middle class. The first ball to drop will be detaching the dollar from all oil trades. That is such a big deal that most don’t understand the ramifications.
Next, you will see China selling their massive treasury holdings. In a debt market that is currently lacking bids of any volume that sell supply could take our 10 year to 4-5%. We are currently at 2.32 with a recent high of 2.5%.
Gasoline is another major bit of fuckery. I know the largest gasoline trucking company in Chicago. I’m good friends with the COO and have worked with him for 15 years. They have 46 tanker trailers. Those trailers do over 5 million miles annually delivering fuel in
Chicagoland. He’s running 29 right now. He is beside himself as to why he can’t get drivers. There is some major fuckery at work there. And it’s not just fuel logistics. It’s across the supply chain.
Now the important shit. Farmer input costs are getting extremely onerous. If you are a dairy farmer the cost of grain and hayage/silage you feed your cattle is through the roof. If you are a grain/silage farmer your fertilizer costs are up 100+% at least. Your fuel to run your equipment is up 200+%. If you are a chicken or hog farmer Covid literally and figuratively killed your labor base. Vax mandates were the extra 10 shells you pumped into the corpse. If you don’t have workers to process the meat, truckers to deliver it, or your fuel/grain costs continue to rise what are you gonna do as a businessman?
The destruction of our livelihood is well on its way. If you have $50mm+ you are good. If you can live off the land you are good. If you aren’t in those groups your life is about to get real fucking shitty.
I certainly hope I’m wrong.
Is it just me or does she get uglier and nastier by the day?![]()
