• Pat Flood (@rebarcock) passed away 9/21/25. Pat played a huge role in encouraging the devolopmemt of this site and donated the very first dollar to get it started. Check the thread at the top of the board for the obituary and please feel free to pay your respects there. I am going to get all the content from that thread over to his family so they can see how many people really cared for Pat outside of what they ever knew. Pat loved to tell stories and always wanted everyone else to tell stories. I think a great way we can honor Pat is to tell a story in his thread (also pinned at the top of the board).

No kidding, it’s frigid down here. We had frost earlier this week.

@Stonewall12, here is the video

Thank you

How do I make this video shareable thru text?
Here is a great use case for archiving. I archived the post so it now has its own thread that will be much easier to share and search.

Copy this link and paste it in your text @Stonewall12

Thank you for doing that.

Yessir, I imagine there will be some heartburn as we move to this process, but I feel in the long run it is going to add a ton of value. Especially when it comes to helping wake people up.

You don't have to just point them to this thread and tell them to catch up through 1000s of pages. Once they see a few interesting things they can jump in for the ride

Can we archive pics of shirtless football recruits?

30 years ago +/-, AlGore had a tax added to our phones to pay to wire the rural areas for internet.

I was speaking with an ATT chap today and asked if ATT was doing this. He said he has never heard of them going to rural areas to put high speed internet service in. He said he lives less that 3 miles from a 45,000 person town (wired) and cannot get anything more than 3 mbps d/l speed at his house.
30 years ago 3mbps was blazing fast Internet.
