Pat Flood (@rebarcock) passed away 9/21/25. Pat played a huge role in encouraging the devolopmemt of this site and donated the very first dollar to get it started. Check the thread at the top of the board for the obituary and please feel free to pay your respects there. I am going to get all the content from that thread over to his family so they can see how many people really cared for Pat outside of what they ever knew. Pat loved to tell stories and always wanted everyone else to tell stories. I think a great way we can honor Pat is to tell a story in his thread (also pinned at the top of the board).

Early voting has always given people the ability vote weeks before the election...it’s the “after voting” after votes being counted and the machine algorithms that seems to be the problem. For me...just one day...Paper ballots and proof of US citizenship...national Holiday where everything is closed.

I'd bet that Desantis has received all shots up to date. However, where I differ from Trump on this, is that I do not care. That is his choice and he is not out there trying to force people to get anything they do not feel is best for themselves. Trump really isn't too much either but every chance Trump gets he talks about how amazing these shots are. He is losing some people that support him with this and Desantis seems to know that is a losing battle with his supporters. So he doesn't do it.(seems like a simple concept, correct?) Something Trump should do, but his ego will NEVER allow that to happen. Trump is in a tough place here, either he backs off from his glowing shot talk (won't because of said ego) or he will continue to lose support. Desantis played is very well in keeping his mouth shut and allowing people to choose for themselves.
It seems almost on purpose.
I'd vote for either Trump or DeSantis, if either one was the primary winner. DeSantis has blown off any questions if he's going to do a Presidential run. Trump hasn't outright said he's running either, beyond "you're going to like what happens".
I'm as confused as any. I just wish he'd go ahead and announce his campaign with DeSantis as his pick for VP, and then set up Ron for two Presidential terms the eight years following. I think the Country Club Republicans would bite their lip and vote for Trump if that RD was a guarantee VP pick, same for anyone who is put off by Trump's vax love.......I feel like that ticket would be uniting and victorious against any shitbag the Dems throw up for 2024.
