It was an auto leaf spring, and had a curve. So first move was to straighten, consequently that end had to be heated first to flatten it out. Later the blade had to be heated more to soften for working. Then re tempered to working hardness.

I back the blue to a point. Having been raised by a cop, I know better than to trust them completely though. They are going to do whatever they are told to do by their superiors. While I appreciate the job they have to do, which is not an easy one by any stretch. Imagine having to arrest people you live in the same communities with for not being masked while eating? Well as asinine as that seems to anyone with the ability to think logically, these police officers are still going to do what they are told. No matter how much the general population backs them.
