Pat Flood (@rebarcock) passed away 9/21/25. Pat played a huge role in encouraging the devolopmemt of this site and donated the very first dollar to get it started. Check the thread at the top of the board for the obituary and please feel free to pay your respects there. I am going to get all the content from that thread over to his family so they can see how many people really cared for Pat outside of what they ever knew. Pat loved to tell stories and always wanted everyone else to tell stories. I think a great way we can honor Pat is to tell a story in his thread (also pinned at the top of the board).

The Penn State basketball team is shut down due to Covid. They have one player who is actively sick and who tested positive. They tested the rest of the team after the sick kid was tested and nine other players tested positive. Even after a few days none of those nine are sick in the least. Zero symptoms. All were jabbed.

Scary stuff. Living in a state that shares borders with that state, this is even more concerning. Hopefully our legislature, which has been not as bad as others around us, (Ct has a solid conservative representation in the state legislature) does not follow suit. If NY votes to put these measures in place, I suspect that the courts will be filling up with cases challenging them. This is where the democrats/liberals temper tantrums about my body my choice, and health care in a right, ect...may be used against them. Except this time it would be just.
Recently, I and others were having issues with tweets not showing up when posted. This morning it happened on another computer. All it took was deleting DuckDuckGo's Privacy Essentials which I had recently installed. Wallah. the tweets returned in place of the blank posts.

I’m confused by the conflicting messaging here. Are we just looking at infighting and dueling narratives because Biden isn’t capable of selecting a coherent message? Is this just a trial leak to see which policy gets more blowback?
The problem with this is who will be around when they emerge to do the work (grow their food, milk their cows, gather their eggs, mine their products, etc.) for them to make their money? They certainly won't want to get their hands dirty.

Dr birx said it herself a year and a half ago at a trump White House daily press conference. Positive test is only 50% accurate.
Quick review with easy math numbers. Let’s say 5% of a state has covid. Let’s say that state runs 1,000,000 tests and tests are 95% accurate (which they aren’t). 5% of 1 million tests is 50k real cases. 5% of the remaining 950k cases are false positives for a total of 47,500 false positives leaving you with a positive test being 50/50 for accuracy.
Of course this data can still be used to claim hospitals are full of covid patients, the number of cases have doubled since last month, people are dying from covid, etc.
All this assumes the powers that be aren’t even looking to drive case numbers up. It doesn’t even take into account what the FDA/CDC can do as far as messing with cycle thresholds, especially while these tests have been operating under EUA for the entire pandemic.
Oh and whatever happened to the flu?
