• Pat Flood (@rebarcock) passed away 9/21/25. Pat played a huge role in encouraging the devolopmemt of this site and donated the very first dollar to get it started. Check the thread at the top of the board for the obituary and please feel free to pay your respects there. I am going to get all the content from that thread over to his family so they can see how many people really cared for Pat outside of what they ever knew. Pat loved to tell stories and always wanted everyone else to tell stories. I think a great way we can honor Pat is to tell a story in his thread (also pinned at the top of the board).

AI and robots, more efficient than humans and less likely to raise up. they've turned the corner and don't need the slave system they've created anymore.

I still think it fails but this is the idea. You only need a limited amount of humans if you can automate food production, manufacturing and service. You'll only need a team of engineers to feed a vast quantity of people.

Correct, but they're the "clean" ones, so they neither test nor quarantine. Unknowing spreaders, mildly symptomatic spreaders, cognitively dissonant spreaders....... don't get lost in the semantics.

Meanwhile, businesses, organizations, even the government have different testing requirements for the unvaxxed, ensuring a steady supply of positives from that demographic.

Of course this data can still be used to claim hospitals are full of covid patients, the number of cases have doubled since last month, people are dying from covid, etc.

All this assumes the powers that be aren’t even looking to drive case numbers up. It doesn’t even take into account what the FDA/CDC can do as far as messing with cycle thresholds, especially while these tests have been operating under EUA for the entire pandemic.

I wonder how people will react this time to the very same measures/edicts from the wannabe dictator Biden? The very same ones that didn't work the first time. I hope the population has seen enough to just go ahead and ignore these people making the rules that they DO NOT ABIDE BY at all. Time and time again there are pictures of the folks playing the do as I say not as I do crap. While leaving out the unspoken but huge parts....least of which is that all of congress and their staffs and families do NOT have to take any vaccine whatsoever and do not have to shut down their lives and ability to make a living because it is cold season.

I think there are still dummies out there who still believe we are in the two week to slow the spread stage from 18/24 months ago. If the government told them that the only way this will go away is if they walk around in an air tight hamster ball for 6 months....they would be first in line to get fitted for one. Lost causes.

I believe early in the fall when there were a lot of "flu cases" on campus's, it was probably Omnicron

This may have already been answered, as I'm pages behind, but yes, people are still losing taste and smell. I've known 6 people get it in the past 3 weeks. One is very early on. The others have all lost it, or at least, the majority of it. Assuming it will come back in a week or two for most of them.
