Pat Flood (@rebarcock) passed away 9/21/25. Pat played a huge role in encouraging the devolopmemt of this site and donated the very first dollar to get it started. Check the thread at the top of the board for the obituary and please feel free to pay your respects there. I am going to get all the content from that thread over to his family so they can see how many people really cared for Pat outside of what they ever knew. Pat loved to tell stories and always wanted everyone else to tell stories. I think a great way we can honor Pat is to tell a story in his thread (also pinned at the top of the board).

Chad Read’s widow releases video of deadly shooting; Carruth attorney makes case for self-defense
In a petition filed on Wednesday, the widow of Chad Read is seeking custody of her late husband’s children from their mother. In the news release from her attorney, they attached a video of the shooting along with the petition.
That was my thoughts. "Hey Kyle, I have you on camera shooting so and so dead. Just thought you may wanna know." Huh? No screaming OMG! YOU KILLED KENNY or anything.

Fauci let the real reason for the “variant” slip out on Meet the Depressed this morning. He said this variant is likely to overcome therapeutics like monoclonal antibodies, etc.
They know they are losing the narrative on alternatives to the illegally approved vaccines to the new variant will dispose of alternative therapeutics. So, how would he already know the variant’s capabilities?

So if somebody stands outside your house and says mean things to you in Texas, when they are there for a legitimate court-ordered reason, you can shoot and kill them without consequence?

An armed society is a polite society. People have grown accustomed to thinking people won't shoot. Once someone has a gun you should leave. If you attack someone who has a gun he would have to assume you mean to take it from him. Not sure of the backstory on this but he told the guy to leave and then fired a warning shot. Once old dude put his hands on him and his gun its self defense in most states.
I've had a gun pulled on me twice and neither time did I try to take the gun away or make any sudden movements. I just backed up and asked them to call the police and we'd get it straightened out.

Watching Hawkeye right now. Filming started in December 2020 and ended in April 2021, before and during mass vaccinations. Scenes feature an entire theater full of non-masked people sitting right next to each other. Other scenes with 100 or so people cozying up laughing it up in a lounge. Same with some of Succession.

Good explanation, unfortunately there are areas like WI where the leftist loons are in charge and want to take away the right to defend yourself. Even if it’s a clear case of self defense charging someone will let everyone know that there will be a cost to the fundamental right of self defense.
Did the prosecutor in this case decide it was self defense?

Jonah Goldberg and Steve Hayes leaving Fox news over Tucker Carlson documentary on Jan 6.... I listened to Dave Smith talk about it and he made a good point. They were ok with weapons of mass destruction, Russiagate, bombing Syria, bombing Russians in Ukraine.... but accusing the FBI of setting up Americans was just a bridge too far. LOL. They didn't even give a reason for their outrage. They just seemed to say it was outrageous and you should take the FBI's word that it was.
I saw it as self defense too.
The shooter gave plenty of notice and fired a warning shot. The attacker advances on him and says he’s “going to make ‘him’ use it” before grabbing the weapon.
No reason for the shooter to think he won’t try again and be successful.
I’m good with the clean shoot determination.
