• Pat Flood (@rebarcock) passed away 9/21/25. Pat played a huge role in encouraging the devolopmemt of this site and donated the very first dollar to get it started. Check the thread at the top of the board for the obituary and please feel free to pay your respects there. I am going to get all the content from that thread over to his family so they can see how many people really cared for Pat outside of what they ever knew. Pat loved to tell stories and always wanted everyone else to tell stories. I think a great way we can honor Pat is to tell a story in his thread (also pinned at the top of the board).

Gross margin fell 0.1% to 23.5%, Best Buy said, missing the 23.6% average of analyst estimates compiled by Bloomberg, while the decline in the core U.S. operation was steeper. The company also reported a 10% drop in domestic online revenue as more shoppers returned to stores.

But besides the usual margin-crushing suspects of frayed supply chains and deep discounts as a result of stepped-up promotional activity and a drag tied to its new TotalTech membership program, the company brought up the reason why Democrats are looking at far more losses in the coming months as a reason for the margin drop: organized theft.

“We are seeing more and more particularly organized retail crime,”
Chief Executive Officer Corie Barry said on a conference call with analysts. “You can see that pressure in our financials, and more importantly, frankly, you can see that pressure with our associates. It’s traumatizing.”

WAUKESHA, Wis. — An 8-year-old boy has died from injuries suffered in Sunday's tragedy at the Waukesha Christmas parade.

Jackson Sparks, 8, passed away Tuesday, according to a post from Life Point Church on Facebook as well as an update shared on a GoFundMe fundraiser.

"This afternoon, our dear Jackson has sadly succumbed to his injuries and passed away," the update reads.

Jackson's brother, Tucker Sparks, 12, continues to heal.

"Tucker, by the grace of God is miraculously recovering from his injuries and will be being discharged home," the update continues.

"Any donation, large or small, is so appreciated and will make a big difference to the Sparks family," the GoFundMe donation page says. "Aaron and Sheri are people of faith, so please continue to lift them and their boys in prayer. Even if you're not able to give, please share their story."

LifePoint Church also said in a statement that Jackson's parents, Aaron and Sheri, is thankful for everyone's prayers and support.

"Please know that they appreciate your continued prayers and tremendous outpouring of support for their family," the statement said. "They do however ask for privacy at this time to allow Tucker to continue to heal physically and their family to heal and mourn the tremendous loss of their sweet little boy who is now under the care of Jesus."

Jackson's pastor, Rob Jadrnicek with LifePoint Church, says he's known the family for several years. He said they would come to service weekly.

"Great young man, little 8-year-old, runs all over the place, does everything," Jadrnicek says. "That family is a great family. That family is a great family, great smiles."

Pastor Jadrnicek points out how much everyone has offered their help and their prayers.

"You'd be blown away at mankind, humanity," he said.

The Mukwonago Area School District responded to the death of Jackson.

"The Mukwonago Area School District is heartbroken over the loss of lives in the Waukesha Christmas Parade tragedy," the district said in a statement on Tuesday. "Sadly we lost one of our students today. We are honoring the family's request for privacy and ask others to do the same."

Jackson and his family are members of the Waukesha Blazers Baseball and Fastpitch Softball Club.

Club President Jeff Rogers said, "Jackson was a sweet, talented boy who was a joy to coach. He was an awesome utility player and played on the Blazers Wolfpack team. Jackson was sweet and tender-hearted with a contagious smile. He was the little guy on the team that everyone supported. You couldn’t help but love him.”

Five other people were killed Sunday when a suspect sped his car into the crowd at the parade. Police identified that suspect on Monday as Darrell Brooks, 39, of Milwaukee.

The five other victims who were killed have been identified as Virginia Sorenson, 79, LeAnna Owen, 71, Tamara Durand, 52, Jane Kulich, 42, and Wilhelm Hospel, 81.

Thomas Kluka Jr. was at the parade. He told TODAY he threw his daughter out of the way to avoid her being struck.

"I noticed him coming through the crowd and I noticed something was not right, and then I saw people flying as I stood up," Kluka told Savannah Guthrie and Hoda Kotb.

"I'm like 'Oh no.' My daughter stood up, I threw her out of the way, then I basically yelled, 'Get out of the way,' and my wife got out of the way, and by the time she did, the car came right past me within at least two feet. I could've touched the car going by."

The Waukesha School District announced that classes would be canceled Monday as a result of the incident and that counselors would be made available to students. LINK

DJT should put Kyle on his security team. IMO

This is great but I would have named it "Fuck around and find out" bill.

TULSA, Okla. — Sen. Nathan Dahm (R-Broken Arrow) filed legislation that protects Oklahomans that use self-defense from facing trial.

Senate Bill 1120 (SB 1120) protects those who use self-defense from a trial for “political reasons.”

According to a statement from Dahm, if the measure becomes law, “victims of malicious prosecution would be able to receive compensation for expenses and damages.”

Dahm filed SB 1120 or “Kyle’s Law” on Tuesday

I have never seen a sports fan act like that towards a woman like @tgsio reported. If that is true, I’m glad I quit going to games. I guess, UGA fans are far more civilized. Who would’ve thought…
You haven't been to an Ohio state game. (Fun fact: Gordon Gee is the president of WVU. He was the oh so honorable president of Ohio State. Might be a cultural thing.)

It's (Ohio state) calmed down a bit in the past few years, but it was pretty awful. And I mean horrible.

That said, I was shocked that kids felt it was all good to behave that way to an adult who just wanted to go pee. When the 20ish year old boy grabbed me, my husband started to make a move that would have landed him on the damn news. I got hold of him in time. I hope that kid knows how close he came to death and is reevaluating his future behavior.

Max decided not to go with us. That's a good thing. If he had seen a young man lay hands on his mother and then spit at her while screaming obscenities ...no way could I get hold of both of he and my husband. One of them would have killed the little shit.

Edit: I'm hearing I wasn't the only one. Women (moms) were being harassed by the students.

Like I said. I know it's not the majority. There were lovely people and we had a great time until game time. But holy cow,

If any of my kids behaved that way, they would pray for the sweet release of death.

Trash talk is fun. Horns down tickles me. Vile harassment and threatening behavior is way over the line. It's a fucking game. And a game between 2 shitty teams, at that. 🤣

That is awful. I’m certainly not naive having been in LE coming up on 23 years, it’s hard for me to imagine a kid acting like that to anyone, especially a woman. Terrible experience.
