Pat Flood (@rebarcock) passed away 9/21/25. Pat played a huge role in encouraging the devolopmemt of this site and donated the very first dollar to get it started. Check the thread at the top of the board for the obituary and please feel free to pay your respects there. I am going to get all the content from that thread over to his family so they can see how many people really cared for Pat outside of what they ever knew. Pat loved to tell stories and always wanted everyone else to tell stories. I think a great way we can honor Pat is to tell a story in his thread (also pinned at the top of the board).

I've said I work at food distribution warehouse in receiving and inventory. We used to miss very little off of an order. If we ordered 700 cases of chicken we'd get 700 cases. It is common now to not get 3 to 5 items on an order and have another 2 or 3 that are half or so. We had one item today that was 156 cases and they sent 2. Our daily sales on that item was 35.
It's coming.
Talking inflation. We just got another employee referral bonus. If you refer someone that stays for 60 days you get $2000. If they stay 120 days you get another $2000. They gave me a bonus because I was covering as supervisor because our main guy quit. Normally I'd lose that extra pay but they are so afraid to lose me they are letting me keep the extra pay even though they promoted a guy to take that spot. Im gonna make about $20,000 more this year than last working fewer hours. Its nuts right now and I think we are going to have to have even more raises to keep or hire people which means giving current people even more money.
We have people getting letters their 401ks are maxed out for the year because they are contributing too much.... that shit never happened before. People just put 10% of their pay in their 401k and don't think about it and all the sudden they already maxed in Oct. LOL.
Im stocked up and have chickens and a good source of fish and wild game. These cities are gonna be hurting in the next few months. Get a deep freezer and stock up on meat and get plenty of canned goods and dry goods. This winter could get hairy.
