Usually it is from the Vietnam Army issued M16. They had slow twist barrels “1-12/1-13/1-14” and were shooting 77gr fmj. The bullet being too long to be stabilized and they did in fact “tumble” or more likely fragment upon hitting something. Military woke up and changed the twist to “1-7”.

Just odd to read these days.

I got out waaaay before you (4/1/99 ETS- best day ever) from the 10th MtnDIV (LI) but I was in under Clinton so looking back I can see the writing on the wall.
