• Pat Flood (@rebarcock) passed away 9/21/25. Pat played a huge role in encouraging the devolopmemt of this site and donated the very first dollar to get it started. Check the thread at the top of the board for the obituary and please feel free to pay your respects there. I am going to get all the content from that thread over to his family so they can see how many people really cared for Pat outside of what they ever knew. Pat loved to tell stories and always wanted everyone else to tell stories. I think a great way we can honor Pat is to tell a story in his thread (also pinned at the top of the board).

This is just going to be more of the same that we had from DeBlasio, but now with added police protection.

The more time goes on the more opposed I am to getting the shot as a result of any mandate. The government, especially the federal government, cannot be trusted to do or require what is in the best interest of the people or the country.

Plus I already had Rona. I was pretty sick for two solid weeks and not back to normal for a week after that. The only time I was ever sicker was mono in high school when I dropped 15 lbs in like a week.

I agree totally. Trump’s bypassing of all reasonable safety measures for vaccine development seems like a big mistake and it’s why many people aren’t getting the jab. Maybe the alternative would have been worse.

Probably got a hold out or two that do not want to give a not guilty verdict. The judge is gonna make them deliberate for as long as it takes. Unlike TV trials rarely end in a hung jury.

Not a lawyer but did a stint as foreman in a federal weapons case and it took us from a friday until the following thursday of all day deliberation to get a guilty verdict. Had one lady that was holding out because the defendant was black and except for being a felon in possession of a firearm ( it was purchased across state line but was not a stolen gun) was a solid dude that worked for Austal shipyards.

Got in a fight with his g/f and left to go to his moms so she called the cops and told them he was shooting a gun in the air (which he wasn't and she and the arresting cop testified to) but end of the day he had a hand gun and did 6 years in prison when he was in his early 20's.

She didn't want to convict and took a lot of convincing to change her vote. Was a grueling 5 days of going over the same shit every day. I think she thought the judge would dismiss due to hung jury but that judge wasn't having it.
