Pat Flood (@rebarcock) passed away 9/21/25. Pat played a huge role in encouraging the devolopmemt of this site and donated the very first dollar to get it started. Check the thread at the top of the board for the obituary and please feel free to pay your respects there. I am going to get all the content from that thread over to his family so they can see how many people really cared for Pat outside of what they ever knew. Pat loved to tell stories and always wanted everyone else to tell stories. I think a great way we can honor Pat is to tell a story in his thread (also pinned at the top of the board).

Just like most everything nowadays. The initial report was "a tragic accident". Now that people are talking and an investigation is happening we are learning that there were serious issues before the shooting which could change the event from accidental to preventable with liability and criminal negligence.

I will say that this letter was well done. It is easy for us to go after someone for something as egregious as their letter to Brandon was, but it is not always so easy to acknowledge someone owning up to a bad mistake. Which the letter to president no brain was. Now they could have been threatened by litigation and had to write it but whatever the reason it was written, it seemed genuine to me.
I disagree. I believe the first letter was their actual intent. Many of these organizations are fully on board with all things Brandon. These people just got caught, it created a firestorm and they are simply doing "that's not what I really said or meant" damage control. The board and many of their acolytes feel that way still.
I think I will send a copy of NYT v Sullivan 1964 to the president of this organization wherein the SCOTUS clearly says these school boards and all other government organizations have to endure asshole reamings these mothers have given them.
