Pat Flood (@rebarcock) passed away 9/21/25. Pat played a huge role in encouraging the devolopmemt of this site and donated the very first dollar to get it started. Check the thread at the top of the board for the obituary and please feel free to pay your respects there. I am going to get all the content from that thread over to his family so they can see how many people really cared for Pat outside of what they ever knew. Pat loved to tell stories and always wanted everyone else to tell stories. I think a great way we can honor Pat is to tell a story in his thread (also pinned at the top of the board).

Trust me I’ve tried to convince her to do her own thing to homeschool a group of kids and make more that she ever would in the public school system. She’s not very business minded and has not desire to do her own thing. The majority of our teachers are not critical thinkers, I can tell you that.

I have hated my boss and place of work for a long time. I generally like the day to day work that I actually do, running the lab on nightshift at small hospital, but am underpaid, underappreciated, and mostly just surrounded by incompetence. Also live in the middle of nowhere, and love alot of things about that but miss civilization and friends and family.
Well I woke up tonight to a voice mail offering me a job back in my hometown, Spartanburg, where I interviewed last week!! Have to call back in the morning to get the details, but I'm on cloud nine at the moment! Everybody will wonder why I am in such a great mood at work tonight hahaha. Wish I could see the look on the face of my stupid old boss when he reads my letter of resignation.

You're missing the point. EVERYONE in the study started unvaccinated. Most got the vaccine, including many who got COVID before getting the shot (known empirically by the high vaccination rate compared to the percent who've had COVID, guaranteeing significant crossover). Furthermore, they're considered "unvaccinated" until 14 days after both shots, so many could've tested positive after the first (or second) jab, and potentially BECAUSE of the jab.
The study highlighted by the CDC is fatally flawed, and while rank incompetence is in the wide realm of possibilities, a far more likely explanation is intentional corruption. And since corruption is likely, the only reason to corrupt the findings to fit a certain narrative, is if the actual uncorrupted data DOES NOT fit that narrative. Therefore it follows that the most likely explanation is that a statistically significant portion of the "unvaccinated" tested positive AFTER the first jab.

Minor update on the fb saga...
Decided tonight was best to focus on the boys and making sure they're on the same page as teammates and brothers. If they quit, they do it as one. If they play, they do it as one. I think they're going to man up and keep playing. It's a giant, double barrel bird to the admin. (Again, there's so much more that I will go into later, but still not the time. It's not out of the question that I eventually pull in the media. It's that bad. And as I've done it before, it's just assumed if we have to go that route, I'm the go to girl.) Don't want to give them any chance to further retaliate. Once FB season is over, game fucking on. One consideration is that if they quit, certain 'high profile' athletes will be targeted within their other sports. (Max and one of his best friends who has a couple of offers for FB being the biggest targets.)
If they continue, there's serious discussion they take a 2 minute knee on kickoff Friday. It's Senior night. And they will all wear their teammates' numbers in solidarity.
When the principal and AD tell parents they can do whatever they want and athletes don't have any rights.... yeah...fuck you very much. They're still students. They have the same rights as choir, band, mathletes, drama, etc.
If one fucking soccer player's strand of hair is snipped (as is tradition), I'm going to go full on mega bitch mode and burn this shit to the ground. Our soccer team is currently 3rd in the state, 20th or so in the country. Go ahead and suspend all the seniors that shave the underclassmen's heads like they did our QB and Captain for the same damn thing *again...tradition. (obviously, I don't want this. I know and love these boys. Shave every head of flowing mane. But fair is fucking fair. And hair is fucking hair. 'Hazing' is hazing. Let's see the response)
What they've done... to the boys and the coaches. Our head coach is a truly good man and the boys love him. He can't say anything at all. I just walked up and gave him a hug. The day Max graduates, I'm presenting her with a bag of basket balls and clorox wipes with a beautiful calligraphy note to keep wiping your balls.) Just needed to let him know the parents, boys and community are behind him 100% no matter what.
The principal is suddenly returning calls and emails, trying to set up a meeting to discuss everything. He knows he fucked up and with the very wrong people. And our daughters' friendship will not extend to me giving him a pass or cover for fucking with and endangering my son (also one of his daughter's closest friends. She's another sister. Max and Claire are only 1.5 years apart. They have the same friend group.) and the other boys. Never mind lying about them and the reality of the situation.
My husband's family has been in our community education for 77 years in one way or another. When my husband came home 14 years ago after a long day at work and hesitantly told me he was the one the CEO called to ask move to Ohio (he knew my husband was from Ohio and gave him the weekend to convince me to leave my family and Texas.), I didn't hesitate...as long as we moved back to Oakwood. I still love this community. I love it enough to fight to save it.
Just go ahead and put me on the domestic terrorist watch list. (Although I'm kinda half ass joking that I already am).

And I had to not reply to her just in case. She's amazing with her students and athletes. She's the one I tell every kid to go to if there's a problem or just needs somebody to listen or if they just need a frigging nap. (She has Stella's half brother. The days I can't puppy sit, she takes him with her to school...as an emotional support therapy puppy )
I didn't want to put her in a situation that was going to go south. She finally had enough and just called me. 4 times before I picked up.
