Pat Flood (@rebarcock) passed away 9/21/25. Pat played a huge role in encouraging the devolopmemt of this site and donated the very first dollar to get it started. Check the thread at the top of the board for the obituary and please feel free to pay your respects there. I am going to get all the content from that thread over to his family so they can see how many people really cared for Pat outside of what they ever knew. Pat loved to tell stories and always wanted everyone else to tell stories. I think a great way we can honor Pat is to tell a story in his thread (also pinned at the top of the board).

Got it twice now since I left home for college 25 years ago. 1st was 3 years ago..and promptly got the flu..2nd was last year and I didn't get sick. No thanks..ill pass
Are you saying that people taking Prednisone are much more likely to get severe Covid? I hadn't heard that, but interesting if true.
Has anyone asked their local congressmen about this? Seems like it would be pretty easy, especially in Red states, for them to answer.

My wife is an elementary school as well. She was the last teacher and or staff at her school to get the shot. I laid out a case against it and provided all the facts of why it was unnecessary. However, the pressure and rules they put in place if she was to get covid while unvaxxed was absurd. I would never tell her I told you so but I did tell her if something was happen she would have to live(or not) with those choices, just like myself. I’m sure everything will work out going forward. We will continue to think about and pray for those who are being affected.

I'm referring to the movement of Bitcoin and Alt coins. There is typically a serious correlation between the movement of all coins. If Bitcoin is increasing, all the others follow. Today after Dimon's statement, Bitcoin rose, while Alt coins dipped. Just odd.

I told my girlfriend exactly this about 2 months ago. I think this is the way forward. Rent out space and start a k-12 school like we used to have and bypass all the BS in public schools.
