I have a question for anyone that has purchased LifeLock protection:

I will preface the question with my experience and Hypothesis.

I joined LifeLock about 15 years ago. Within 6 months I received n alert that someone was attempting to open a credit card account in my name and with my SS#. It was successfully blocked and my credit was locked down. I was pleased that I had purchased the service of LifeLock.

Year after year, and without any new alerts, I have started to wonder if the first alert was fake. I wondered if Lifelock does this routinely with new customers to give them ”Buyers Affirmation “. Confirmation bias?

I have not had any alerts since that first one.

Have any of you had a similar experience?

I think you have a burden in here to be concise and direct, and I also think you have a burden to “win people over” - which I can relate to. It’s too much to take on. You can’t understand why people are so upset about this topic (your words) - fair, but seeking answers to that in here are futile and only serve to gaslight the scenario. I was a LifeLock member for 5 years. One day my Experian membership alerted me to a PII breach and I dealt with them for 2 weeks to resolve it. LifeLock never contacted me one time during that entire 2 weeks. I then cancelled my LifeLock account. Just sign up with Experian. They are all over shit… Hope this helps.
