One of the major themes Bannon has emphasized over the past few years is how the United States taxpayers are the creditors of our system and we've been absolutely hosed. To put this in perspective, if I invest in a startup as a venture capitalist, I typically get about 20% of that company as there is a decent amount of risk. When a bank (creditor) goes in to save a company out of bankrupcy, they get 50%+, including getting paid first, getting more and more of the upside with the risk.
How much did we get paid back when we, the creditors of the United States, bailed out the banks in 2008?
