If there are that many at State and most live in the DC area, when Musk starts firing people, the DC-area will have issues. At the height of the Covid scare, remember the DC area had some of the lowest unemployment in the nation. Why? Because of all these gov't employees--some multiple income gov't workers and nobody losing jobs like Mom and Pop America was. A couple hundred thousand RIF'ed people can't be absorbed in an area where the biggest employer is not hiring.
100,000 patents? This is similar to the automobile companies. When someone invents a way to run a car on water or hydrogen for little or no money, all the inventor's patents are bought and rat holed by car companies. Same with Big Pharma and diseases.
