Actually, that Order allowed ERCOT to dispatch generation units that would normally not be allowed due to EPA standards and regulations. The Order says that ERCOT can use any and all dispatchable forms of generation available (burn oil, diesel, etc., that are rarely used anymore), but limit it to only that level necessary to meet reliability needs of the region. In this case, that is everything available. NERC reliability requirements and EPA emission standards are often in conflict in severe conditions. This letter says that reliability wins over emissions, but only at the level needed to meet minimum reliability (customer service).

ERCOT couldn’t even meet the needs with this Order allowing them to burn pig fat and horse shit if needed.

Absolutely concur. The unicorn of engineering... Let’s be honest tho. A CivE undergrad in experience is the least challenging of all engineering studies, yet ironically, it’s one of the most critical in real world application. The EIT and PE absolutely should be required... Some EE jobs require it, but less than 5% to be honest. This is key and why i specifically referenced the PE license (for my CivE brothers and sisters). But I stand by my comment. It’s not required to gain employment as an engineer (which is a problem and the crux of my editorial)...
This whole exchange has been great for confirming why I went law school and got my Juris Doctorate after getting my engineering degree. 😄 I would ask that you all refer to me as Dr. Jayhox, Esquire, the Engineer . . . but not having taken the EIT or PE exams, some of you obviously would scowl at that. 🤣

"a killing that resulted from a depraved heart or extreme recklessness"
Why not 1st degree?

n. although it varies from state to state, it is generally a killing which is deliberate and premeditated (planned, after lying in wait, by poison or as part of a scheme), in conjunction with felonies such as rape, burglary, arson, involving multiple deaths, the killing of certain types of people (such as a child, a police officer, a prison guard, a fellow prisoner), or with certain weapons, particularly a gun.

Cuomo's actions were deliberate and premeditated (planned) there were burglaries, arson, multiple deaths, and certain people were killed (police officer/s) and the weapon was a virus said to be worse than anything known or seen by man ever before in the history of the world.

The restaurants in my town can have glass salt, pepper and sugar shakers on the tables. They can have glass ketchup bottles too. All napkins, individual jelly packets, cream and Equal have to be asked for as the health director believes similar yet allows every patron to touch the salt, pepper, sugar and ketchup bottles.

These morons who issue these edicts can't even see the idiocy within their reasoning.
