Maybe I am reading this wrong but it says that the power still resides within the state legislature.

Lake Travis being way down has an impact as well. We would generate 50k per summer when full and now maybe every third weekend is booked and never during the week.

Regarding the SC ruling, I believe it gives the state judiciary more power in state elections via redistricting/drawing new voter lines and ruling on mail in ballots, etc. Prior to this ruling it was the sole discretion of state legislatures. Of course they threw that out the window this last election cycle so who knows.

This has since been proven inaccurate. They are down 4-ish%, not the 40+ that site was claiming.

I think the guy who "proved it inaccurate" might be an industry shill. We don't use air bnb, but every place we've looked at going recently has a good # of places available, even for just a few weeks out, and a year ago there was virtually nothing at this time.

Supply has doubled and tripled in the last year, wich will have a big impact on availability. I've equated STR's to the new gold rush. Everyone has seen what STR's are bringing in and wanted in on it.

Last year on our lake, there may have been 15 STR's. There's 60+ now. Luckily, we bought pre covid for a good price and decent rate. Plus we didn't make lake the main focus and have plenty of other stuff to do when the weather is shitty.
