His failure to kill Hyman Roth did it for me.

My question always was why the fuck did Michael have this octogenarian as his muscle?

I stumbled across a clip from Knight and Day, a Tom Cruise movie from 2010.

Tom Cruise on federal agents coming to take the female lead, June: "DIP. It means Disinformation Protocol. Federal agents will say I'm mentally unstable, paranoid, violent and dangerous. It'll be convincing. A few key DIP keywords to listen for, words like 'stabilize', 'secure', 'safe'. If they say these words with repetition, it means they're going to kill you."

It either came out of a U.S. laboratory, or it came out of the Wuhan Institute of Virology,” he said.

Or it came from the clandestine biolabs in the Ukraine. We've already seen documents saying those labs were working on Wuhan Charlie.

Edit: Yesterday we saw evidence that the BioLabs were also working with anthrax. They weren't trying find a way to deactivate anthrax or make it less lethal---they were enhancing its strength probably using Fauci's Gain of Function funding.

In the Mafia, you do what you are told (kill someone) or you're killed.

I ain't saying why would Rocco comply, I'm saying why would Michael waste his 2nd in command on a suicide mission? Roth was done at that point. He was stripped of money and power. Being at the top himself, he'd of had little value testifying against Michael or anyone else.

Plus, Michael just came out of a public trial where it was revealed that Rocco was his 2nd in command. Having Rocco do the killing not only robbed him of his capo, but also would tie him directly to the murder of an organized crime figure.

From no angle does it make sense. If, for example, Michael believed Rocco was in on the hit against him or believed Rocco just wanted to make the smart move like Tessio in the 1st movie, you don't have him do this publicly, you get rid of him similar to how he did Fredo. He just got out of the national spotlight, only to then shine an even brighter spotlight directly on himself.
