Pat Flood (@rebarcock) passed away 9/21/25. Pat played a huge role in encouraging the devolopmemt of this site and donated the very first dollar to get it started. Check the thread at the top of the board for the obituary and please feel free to pay your respects there. I am going to get all the content from that thread over to his family so they can see how many people really cared for Pat outside of what they ever knew. Pat loved to tell stories and always wanted everyone else to tell stories. I think a great way we can honor Pat is to tell a story in his thread (also pinned at the top of the board).

The high winds in Dallas were no joke.
60 mph gusts. The windiest two days in Dallas I can remember… felt like a Tuesday in Lubbock though.
Dfw officials are still a little gun shy over the 1985 wind sheer incident. I think is confirmation bias, but hope there’s no wind over thanksgiving when I am flying into DFW.

Liberal cities like Seattle, NYC, Chicago, or Minneapolis, where first responders are either "out sick" or out due to vax mandates? If it were to happen in any of those cities, you've got far fewer people who can respond right now.
99% of me says I don't want to see that happen. The other 1% says if it happens, please happen in one of these cities so just maybe their leadership could see the errors of their ways. If it happens in Minneapolis, if a certain politician were in town, that would be absolutely terrible if that person were affected. Absolutely terrible and it would make me very sad.
I'd say let it burn.
But, that would flush the rats who voted for the circumstances they are living under to flee and contaminate the rest of us.
This would have been over a year ago had they treated it like a medical issue. It was political the moment Brandon said Trump was 'racist and xenophobic" for stopping flights from China. Worldwide politics prevailed and the majority of the medical profession went along. It's going to take a long time for the medical profession to reacquire its credibility, if they ever do. Too many of them went along with the charade even today.

If it happens in those cities maybe one or more of the politicians will watch as their homes burn to the ground.
Won't be much longer before insurance companies will not insure property in those cities that continue with this outrageous idiocy.

Living in the northern part of Ct., not too far from NYC, both of these things are the last thing I'd like to see happen. While Ct is very much a democrat state, we have made progress over the last decade in narrowing the gap. Adding a bunch more liberals to our state's voter rolls will set that back years. I also do not want to see NYC go down to 80's level NYC. Our country is better when the major cities are flourishing. Not the other way around.

I am sure the NY Times will put all of his fact driven info into an article for everyone of their readers (mostly vax Nazis) to see. Of course they will not because they have a charade to keep up, but if they were honest to goodness journalists, they would have already been questioning everything going on. Which is what the press used to do. They are just special interest lobbyists at this point though.
