Why is it that the Florida Department of Health is set to destroy public education in Florida by needlessly quarantining healthy children? Last school year in Okaloosa County alone 10,396 students were quarantined at least once and many multiple times for up to 14 days per quarantine period. Of those students quarantined 1.3% developed symptoms of COVID. That conservatively translates to over 432,000 man hours of lost education for these students when only 135 developed COVID. That is considered an extremely low rate. This is only one county of the 67 counties in Florida. Extrapolate those numbers across the state and its tens of millions of lost education hours for Florida students.
School has been in session for less than 3 days now and the Department of Health has already started quarantining healthy students again. These same students have been together all summer, played in summer league sports, travelled together on vacation, had sleepovers, attended summer camps etc. with no quarantines yet now that school is in session here comes the Department of Health to deny them their right to a public education.
It's time for this to stop. I would ask if you agree to write to Governor DeSantis and ask him to put a stop to quarantining healthy students in Florida so they can continue uninterrupted with their education. His email address is GovernorRon.Desantis@eog.myflorida.com

This raises a great point. My wife and I visited Nashville on July 4th for a free concert downtown. There were an estimated 400,000 people covering Broadway and 99% of us were mask free. I have been watching the news and there has been nothing mentioned about positive tests going up afterwards. Amazing.
