Doubtful we have anything that can intercept anything running Mach 6+ the best option will most likely be high power laser weapons. Which are pretty far along in development.

Biggest issue there is that coming from high altitude clouds will cause issues and weaken the laser. Best option is a combination of ground and orbital laser defensive weapons IMO.

US Navy has already been testing them on ships to counter drone swarms, power requirements are really high so not sure what it would take for orbital deployment.

Testing was in the middle east, that means it's a proven concept and they are just testing them in a real world situation to see how they work with other ship systems. Development happens in a lab.

As far as homeland and base defense you have to think a static system would be much further along than a ship based or portable system.

Best option is to threaten to nuke the fuck out of China if they attack us. It worked with the USSR. We've been playing nice with china for way too long. We don't have to be aggressive but got dayum.... we need to lay down some ground rules.
