It’s hilarious my mother in law is turning on whitmer and I love it. She’s pissed about HS basketball as her youngest daughter plays and they just had another delay to starting the season.
Apparently she went off yesterday about she wants to move to the south. To my wife’s credit, despite being a lib herself, said “so you want to move to a Republican state?” MIL said no there are democrat states allowing them to play and my wife said no there isn’t (she still likes Whitmer because muhhh women’s power) and my MIL has to go to a red state to have it fully open. Later my MIL told me the kids need to be protesting to Whitmer to play as it is ridiculous.
As my wife told me the first story and then my MIL said the part to me I was just smiling inside. You voted for this and it’s exactly what we told you would happen. You didn’t want to listen. So now live with that decision and don’t whine to those of us who tried to warn you.

I was shocked that medical cannabis was voted for pretty much across the political spectrum here in Mississippi. Gave me a little hope.
Not surprising. People want freedom.
It's failed logic and policy to try to regulate domestic freedoms of individuals.
All regulations should be pointed up at the government itself and corporations especially right now.

Agreed, but having lived here for most of my life it shows a shift of the religious right's hold on the state to a more moderate yet individual rights oriented stance on a lot of issues. We finally dealt with the stupid flag issue and built some good will and political capital across the aisle as well.
'Conservatives' and the religious right would get more of what they want with a pro liberty stance.
Wouldn't be vilified nearly as much and could focus on key issues when the present themselves.
