What's That One Thing You Always Want to Buy?

I have a few things that I have to restrain myself from buying everything I'm at the store. $.99 notebooks, playing cards, and friggin rope. It doesn't matter how many/much I already have at home, I just want to buy them when I see them.

Do any of you have the same compulsion? What's your item of choice?

White toilet paper for my white privileged ass. Reminds me of my superior status in life.

White toilet paper is racist. Soon it will come in black.

Rally's french fries. Can't hardly drive past one without stopping.

Dog toys. I have to pick up baskets of toys after their done playing every day but I just can't get over how happy they are when they get a new stuffed animal, ball, ect.

You're gonna have a good 4th.
So yeah, about that, I move in Sept. and my new neighbors have a 4’wide X 15’ table in his work bench full. Easily 20-25 boxes plus everything else imaginable.

You are right on with dog toys. My boxer has about 10 and the other day I brought home a new one that looks like Cookie Monster and she was totally enraptured. She knew it was for her when i pulled it out of the bag! She carries that one around all the time. When a visitor comes to the house she will always get her favorite toy in her mouth and go greet them. Right now it Cookie Monster! Dogs are so awesome.

That shelf is sagging like Stacey Abrams chair. You might need to redistribute some of that before a massive failure occurs.

Love it! We might be related. My two brothers and I pool our resources and buy a truck load of firepower. It is a local event that all the neighbors love. They bring food we bring firepower. We also make at least one custom pyrotechnic extravaganza to close the show, and it usually involves mixing gun power with gasoline. We have literally created explosions that look like small atomic bombs. No shit. We detonate it remotely. It's awesome. Glad you have the fire down below too!

Mine are all about these stuffed pigs I get from TSC. The pigs oink and have the "crinkly" sounding ears too.

Both lose their minds when they get news ones together. Mine like to hide theirs in their "caves" we make for them.

At one point in my life the answer would have been weed. : ) It is more of a social/help me sleep when I am having trouble doing so type thing now. I would say right now the main focus for me is collecting golf clubs, specializing in Scotty Cameron putters.

The things that I always buy are:
1. Fishing lures (lots of different kinds, depending on what trips I may have, or what trips I want to go on in the near future)
2. Bourbon. I'm well stocked already, but will typically look around if I'm at a place with any decent selection.
3. Chips & Salsa. Can you ever really have enough?

I joke with my neighbor that I heard Stone Mountain was bowing out of their show after they heard about ours. This way they can save the embarrassment. (and FYI I'm not even close to Stone Mountain. 🤣 )

Wait....so you would consider blowing my house up to be a massive failure? youseriousclark.gif

I attempted in high school BUT the cops shut it down with (and I quote as stated to my dad) 600-800 kids in the neighborhood/at my house. If my house goes up in flames....you can bet damn well there is going to be a party....if one didn't cause it! 🤣

I used to make my own gun powder (not as good as ammo guys but works). I would take the cardboard tubes off coat hangers and fill them with my powder. I took several fuses from firecrackers and tape them together to about 8" in length and put that inside the tube. Nice 15" firecracker. Those would blow metal trash cans 50 feet into the air. I put one in a hole in a concrete curb. It blew a chunk about the size of a 5# bag of flour out of the curb.

That was one hell of a cool construction scheme - no wonder it had so much fire power. Growing up we got 2" tubes of plastic plumbing pipe and cut it about 42" long. We worked in two man teams -one guy held the tube on his shoulder like a bazooka while the other loaded a bottle rocket or two and lit them. The goal was obvious - hit the other two that we about 75 feet away. Those we such good times. Now we just launch shit, but we go large!

I crimped the bottom and top of the tube using the pointed end of a bottle opener then used scotch tape to seal the bottom. Sometimes I took the gun powder out of several firecrackers and mixed it with my gun powder. Over the years I have saved about 50 of these tubes---just in case.

CO2 cartridges make excellent rockets. Cut off the ends, make some gun powder and cut off match heads. Pack the cartridge with match heads and place it on a flat surface. Pour a line of gun powder away from the end of the tube and light it. Rocket Man!

Without a doubt: books. If I travel I have to find the old bookstore somewhere. And then my suitcase always ways a ton on the way home. And I never read 75% of them. But I have them by God just in case
