Canal. Ever since a friend in college always pronounced Canal Street as See Anal Street, I cannot see that word without thinking of it having the word anal in it.
Why do you park in a driveway but drive on a parkway???

In French, it is pronounced dooblah-vay.
I've always been fascinated how the English language has limited actual mouth movements. We use "voiced" and "unvoiced" sounds to make our speech more efficient. Examples:
-J is the same as Ch. First is voiced, second not
-D is the same as T
-B and P
-Z and S
-G and K
-Th is voiced at the beginning of a word and unvoiced at the end. Thumb vs teeth
