What are some words that seem weird when you think about them a lot

The.

It rhymes with duh, yet it is such an important and oft used word in our language.

"The place with the longest single word is; Taumatawhakatangihangakoauauotamateaturipukakapikimaungahoronukupokaiwhenuakitanatahu."

"At 85 letters, this Māori name for a hill in New Zealand is often truncated to; Taumata."

Naming random hills in NZ was a significant endeavor in this nations history.

It was a long and arduous process overall, butt eventually they succeeded—with the help of Tama-the spastic monkey, mashing a keyboard.

I've always been fascinated how the English language has limited actual mouth movements. We use "voiced" and "unvoiced" sounds to make our speech more efficient. Examples:
-J is the same as Ch. First is voiced, second not
-D is the same as T
-B and P
-Z and S
-G and K
-Th is voiced at the beginning of a word and unvoiced at the end. Thumb vs teeth
