We need an old school recession (link). Have you heard of quiet quitting? Back in the day, we just called this being a loser....

There is the /anti-work thread on Reddit where kids making $25/hour talk about purposefully doing shitty work and being lazy on the job because “shitty pay = shitty work”

Used to be you took a shitty job and busted your ass to get promoted. Guess not anymore. Society is either fucked or a lot of kids are in for a rude awakening. Not sure which one yet.

Well I hope and pray like most of social media that it represents a small % of the people.

But I do believe that this younger generation is total fucked unless they get their act together.

I have 2 daughters in this demo and I always tell them that they can lap the field of their peers by showing up and working hard. Good thing they haven't developed crappy habits.

$25/hour is better than anyone in my family made until well into the 1990's. Just a little OT and some bennies and thats over $55,000/year. That isn't bad at all starting out in life.

There are literally millions of Americans, many of them well educated, who bust their ass for $25 an hour. Depending on where you live, that is a decent living, though much less so lately thanks to bidinflation.

Yeah that thread will really piss you off. Bidenflation has everyone making more money and Covid exasperated a mismatch in job skills needed and job openings.

The result is kids making $20-25 an hour to work, do a shitty job, but its hard to fire them because small businesses need their help to stay open.

Seems kin to socialism to me. The country desperately needs a recession to get people “needing” to work again.
