I didn’t know Paul, but my niece is his first cousin. I know their family very well. By all means the Murdaughs I know are good people.

Paul did wrong and deserved to pay a price, no doubt in my mind. He deserved his day in court though.

I won’t go into too much detail in a public forum, but there was an air of invincibility when you went to hang at their property. If we got into trouble we knew who to call. It was a beautiful piece of property but it won’t be theirs much longer, it’s pretty much expected to be lost in the civil suit.
I grew up there, and besides a couple of the family members, they were all white trash grifters clad in executive clothing flaunting their ill-found wealth.

I feel bad for his mother’s death, but I think Paul burns in hell. His father, Alec, is a Grade A piece of shit. It honestly wouldn’t surprise me me if he’s the one who did it. Absolutely no knowledge to back that up, AT ALL, but fuck that family to infiniti.

You say they were good people, and also say they were invincible and entitled. From everything I've seen and heard they seemed like grade A faggots.

How can they be that fucking stupid? 1) Hosting underage kids with alcohol and boats 2) not locking the property into a trust and granting themselves a life estate to protect against civil forfeiture derived from such terrible decision making. I’d look hard at family members in this case, they have motive if the above is true.

1) I don’t know. I won’t say it’s stupid because I participated in it at their house and many other people’s houses. Stupid or not, you have to take reponsibility for your action.

2) The family got their power by being attorneys. I’m sure they tried every legal maneuver possible. But it ain’t working. Their son killed
Someone and the law may find that they are liable. I’ve seen the lawsuit, and a lot of what I read rings true to me.

Sorry you feel that way, you aren’t the only one. I don’t know Alec, but have heard similar things to what you are saying.. Same thing for a few other family members. However, I can only go off the Murdaughs I know, and most are good people.

I see the contradiction, and can't blame you for thinking that tbh. A girl lost her life and if it was my daughter I can't even begin to imagine what I would do.

I can only go off of how they treated me and the Murdaughs I know treated me well. I have heard some not so nice stores of other family members, but it would be hearsay from me.

@ChicagoFats Did you know Paul had an alter ego named "Timmy"?
While they were at Luther’s, Paul Murdaugh allegedly became very drunk according to the depositions filed with the Parker’s pleading. His friends claimed he has a drunk alter-ego named “Timmy” who came out that night.

According to his friends’ depositions, Murdaugh’s eyes get “as wide as half dollars,” without blinking when he gets in “Timmy” mode. He holds his hands sprawled out, does erratic movements with his arms, and “… he was an angry drunk too, so you could always tell when he became ‘Timmy.'”

I did not know Paul or Timmy. Only his cousins and other family members.

But honestly, I can see that story being true.

Kind of a misleading headline. While he could have done it, he was the father and husband of the victims and found the bodies. That kind of automatically makes you a person of interest.

Pissed at your own entitled fucked up family enough, and blew them all away? Would make more sense if he killed himself.

What other alternative could there be? Would a jury or civil trial go away with their deaths?

The civil trial is between the Beach family and Randolph Murdoch, his son and grandson i believe. They are still alive or their estate still intact and so i would assume the lawsuit will continue. The only way it wouldn't is if the Beach family dropped it. I guess thats possible, but not probable.

I thought this whole time, the Paul kid was the guy charged. Jesus. It’s like a soap opera.

Paul was charged with murdering Mallory Beach because he was boating under the influence. He was out awaiting trial.

im editing, because as a result of his connections to the Murdaugh law firm, I don't believe he ever saw the inside of a jail cell. If he did, it was for minimal time. So he wasn't "out" awaiting trial but he was awaiting trial.

His family hired the best defense attorney that money could buy in Dick Harpootlian.

Not that i know of. In an odd twist i don't see mentioned much ... the lawyer that the Beach family hired was very close to the Murdaughs prior to the lawsuit.
Wouldn't/shouldn't this go to federal court since everyone there is so close?

The boating accident started out under local jurisdiction, but due to public pressure prosecution was taken over by the states attorney general.

Let me see if I understand this… Paul kills the girl, Paul charged with negligence/ wrongful death. Beach family sues Randolph Murdoch? Because he supplied the site and booze?
absolutely.

They also successfully sued others that supplied alcohol and have already settled i beilieve. There is a convenience store being sued also, but they havent settled. So at minimum 2 outstanding lawsuits by beach family

Is Murdoch and Murdaugh the same family?
not like fox news murdoch, no.

Murdaugh is a well known, powerful family name in the south eastern portion of South Carolina.

Made most of their money suing railroad companies. They know all the residents and some say they were in cahoots with juries.

I.e. they know most of the people on the juries, because its a small town and they know everyone. Someone in their family was solicitor of the area for something like 50 years in a a row or something.

As an adult you have to know that you’re playing with fire if you have other people’s kids over and let them drink unsupervised, from a liability perspective.

As for the trust issue, you can’t insure a home the day after it burns down. The same applies to a trust.

Grandpa made Alex do it.
I cannot stress enough the influence the grandpa had.

Instructions were clear, if you got in trouble you called grandpa first. No one else. He was 3rd generation solicitor, he had deep connections. Sherrifs connections, DNR connections, SLED connections. It went deep. There was never a problem gramps couldn’t handle …. Until Timmy fucked it all up. The attention the Beach case brought was too much to be swept under the rug.

knowing that you were dying. Your grandson is a sack of shit, your son is getting divorced. Good old boy system, dads dying favor to son is to make sure all he has worked for his whole life stays in the family.
Maybe they conspired together, maybe not.

I have no idea what happened, but since we are throwing rumors around...my sister has a good friend that is married into that family. Sister heard a rumor yesterday that it was a murder suicide, covered up by the dad. Doesn't make sense to me, but figured I'd share it anyway, 'cause why not?

That just doesn’t make sense. Dad and mom’s going through a divorce. If anything, he’d probably have allowed Paul to kill mom to save half the family fortune.
