• Pat Flood (@rebarcock) passed away 9/21/25. Pat played a huge role in encouraging the devolopmemt of this site and donated the very first dollar to get it started. Check the thread at the top of the board for the obituary and please feel free to pay your respects there. I am going to get all the content from that thread over to his family so they can see how many people really cared for Pat outside of what they ever knew. Pat loved to tell stories and always wanted everyone else to tell stories. I think a great way we can honor Pat is to tell a story in his thread (also pinned at the top of the board).

TSA precheck

Recently got a message that my TSA precheck will be expiring in the next several months. There's a box to click to renew it online, but when I clicked on it, they said I have to go in and do it in person. Anyone had this experience before? This is my first time renewing, but it would seem that since they have all of the necessary documents already, it would an easy online renewal.

On their website, they say it can be required in person if the fingerprints that they have are deemed as poor quality, or something like that, but it's just odd. Probably on their list due to my FSF status and not wearing my mask around in public.

Any similar experiences?

Sorry I don’t fly.

Pretty crazy. I used to fly all the time for work, but now without work travel, I usually will take 2-3 trips per year that I need to fly for. With limited vacation time, I'm not trying to drive for 4 days on a 6 day trip.
I mostly just stick around the house and fortify the compound.

Was able to renew online about 3-4 months ago. Sorry you are a terrorist

CLEAR and whatever they call Global Entry

Fly fist class, you'll get it that way to....

Did my renewal appt. and was in and out in 10 minutes. Had to get new finger prints and photo. Got notification that everything was approved again, so I'm good to go for another 5 years. Still not sure why I had to go back and do it in person, but all is well.

How long since your initial TSA approval? Maybe after X years you need to go in person so they can have an updated picture? Same thing with a driver's license.

I can't remember if I had renewed it once before or not. So either 5 years or 10 years, but I'm thinking it was just 5. Can't remember for sure though

I got felt up by a couple of fag TSA agents(2 different occasions). Wife thought it was the funniest shit she had ever seen, almost peed herself. I am flight averse now. Fuck those people.

Mainly just go to the lake.
With the weirdness in our culture these days, did you consider requesting a female TSA agent to do this? I think they generally have male/male and female/female interactions, but if you told them your male partner wouldn't appreciate it, maybe you could at least get a female frisk. ;)

Then again, I've seen some of the female agents, so that may not be much of an improvement.

I like your last statement about the lake. I've been actively looking for a property on the water whether lake, ocean, intercoastal, etc.

It happened so fast I didn't have time to react. They just walked up, asked me to step aside.... One guy felt/rubbed my chest even though I wearing a dry fit. Another one checked to make sure I didn't have anything in my back pockets...

I don't do masks or anything so she hasn't been able to take me out in public for awhile. But I can start a fire like a good cave man, so I got that going for me. Ha!

Don't underestimate being able to do manly things. Especially these days. Where do you live, that masks are still required? They finally did away with them in NV just last week.

I recently renewed my first approval, so my info was only 5 years old. Renewed online, no in-person requirements.

Oklahoma. They haven't enforced the masks in quite some time, I am still so pissed that I won't give several places my business.

A friend of mine lives in Vegas, heard all bout the tyrants there.

I used to get it automatically when I worked for the government. Was definitely clutch at times. Need to get it going again
