Thought the board could use one of these. My brother lives in DC near the Pentagon and I am near Columbia, SC. Was randomly looking at flights one night for a long weekend in February and found a deal for a nonstop flight for $78 through Travelocity. Thought it was mistake, but double checked and it was right. Told my bro, he said he would let me know the next day. Needless to say, flights were back up to $200+ by the time he got back to me.

So what are we using to find cheap flights and get notifications on them? My buddy uses Scott's Cheap Flights so I will check that out. What else is out there?

FYI- You have to pay extra for attendants to do this... worth it internationally

I have seen numerous friends post about getting cheap flights. One bought $300 tickets Chicago to Hawaii. Also had friends get $199 round trip tickets flying from KC to Liberia, Costa Rica. I recently flew $90 KC to Denver so that didn't suck

Are they and you using any type of notification app when cheap flights hit? Or just finding cheap flights when you look?

Haven't gotten any notifications yet and I signed up Tuesday. Thought they would be pouring in, but nothing yet.

Scott’s is legit. They are running a promo for 50% a year. I’ve used that site for years and it’s worth it’s weight in gold.

There are many great deals right now. If you have miles/points, it’s also a great time to redeem. There are a lot of sweet spots out there, but prices are so low it’s worth paying for them right now. Hopper and Momondo are also good apps to use. If you travel a lot, Expert Flyer is one of the best (but can be tricky to figure out). Happy to helps of anyone has questions.
