Pat Flood (@rebarcock) passed away 9/21/25. Pat played a huge role in encouraging the devolopmemt of this site and donated the very first dollar to get it started. Check the thread at the top of the board for the obituary and please feel free to pay your respects there. I am going to get all the content from that thread over to his family so they can see how many people really cared for Pat outside of what they ever knew. Pat loved to tell stories and always wanted everyone else to tell stories. I think a great way we can honor Pat is to tell a story in his thread (also pinned at the top of the board).

I would probably just shit my pants at that point.
Driving 6 hours back from Venice La after a 4 day fishing trip. Bought a case of
oranges and I ate about 8 of them. This is after drinking ridiculous amounts
of beer and pounding fried fish all week.
It was explosive and immediate. No shame zero fucks given at that point.

Make it home if you are not near a Buccees or a QT or someplace reasonably clean.
I have never flats fished in Texas. I would think the water would be dingy.
I know they have good trout and red fishing though.

Yes but you need clear water. You might find some in Texas. I know
guys catch huge trout in Baffin Bay wade fishing but I don’t think the water
is clear.
South Florida and the Keys is where that water is.

In the late 70's-early 80's when I worked with CBP during the Vietnam Boat Lift/Resettlement Program, we had a few Vietnamese come off airplanes into Customs and drop their pants and shit on the floor. Many had never seen a restroom or could read Men/Women (long before all the M/F identifying figures) on the bathroom doors.
When I was 6 my dad took me skiing.. I had the runs leak out my ski plants from 5k ft up a mountain in ny. I road home naked sittitning shot gun.ii did have a 1978 blanket. Qe still fish

To shit I’d drive the 4.1 miles to the big travel plaza off the interstate where the truckers went. I’d even take some good TP in my shorts pocket because it was clean as hell but they had shit toilet paper.

At one point I had lived/traveled in a car for about 7-8months, numerous times resorted to shitting in bushes, using nearby leaves.
My solution to this potentially shitty situation has been to keep TP and a collapsible shovel in all my vehicles.
Plus these things are really fuckin handy for all sorts of situations,...
