Mel Gibson has denied bombshell claims by Winona Ryder that the Aussie actor-director
lobbed anti-Semitic slurs at the actress at a Hollywood party in the mid-’90s.
The “Stranger Things” star and Gen X icon accused Gibson in
an interview Sunday of calling her an “oven dodger” when he learned of her Jewish heritage. The offensive term is an apparent reference to Jewish prisoners who avoided being incinerated at Nazi death camps during World War II.
At the same industry soiree, Ryder claims Gibson asked her friend, who is gay, “‘Oh, wait, am I gonna get AIDS?’”
Later in the article:
Gibson was
first accused of making anti-Jewish remarks in 2006, when he was booked for a DUI near Malibu, California. The actor-director told a police officer, “Jews are responsible for all the wars in the world” and referred to a female officer on the scene as “sugar tits.”
Sugar tits. Legend.
