Just had one pulled by the dentist instead of doing the whole oral surgery and general anesthetic bit. Would highly recommend.

Any wisdom teeth whore stories?

Got all 4 done at once and got dry socket on all of them.

That’s nothing compared to getting your tonsils out tho

Not much to say really. It’s just an awful sharp pain that doesn’t go away for weeks and then u have to go back in where they put a hose in there’s and dig out whatever food particles got trapped
We're you hitting the Newports / dank too soon or something?

Just had all 4 pulled two weeks ago. No stitches. Stayed on a liquid diet for the first two days after. Religiously used the mouth rinse after meals for the two week timeframe between surgery and follow-up appt. Quit smoking for 3 days. Had no issues with dry socket.

Got mine done in 9th grade. Some mentally handicapped guy was getting his in the next room. Screaming bloody murder. They gave me some gas, which didnt knock me out, and worried me pretty bad. Gave me a lot more. I woke up in the recovery room really fucked up. Guy with a ski mask gets in my face interrogating me on how I got to Arizona and what I was doing there.

It was my Dad fucking with me again. That fucker always fucked with us.

Yes, when I was 18 the dentist wanted to pull my two wisdom teeth on one side and then two weeks later come back and pull the other two.

I have never went back after I had the first two pulled. I hope this helps.

Only had one wisdom tooth... others never formed so guess I am either more evolved or less smart that you assholes...... Could be both tho

Also went to a specialist and got knocked out and woke up after..... Hardly felt a thing.

Got all 4 at once. Only got Novocain. What I can recall is that the dentist was basically taking a screwdriver with a socket on the end of it, placing it over the tooth and then just wrenching it back and forth while I had to listen to my teeth being ripped from my skull. Not to mention the amount of pressure that I could feel as he did it.

Thanks OP for bringing up repressed memories.

Had mine taken out in high school. Got dry sockets, probably in the top 4 for worst pain I’ve ever felt. Probably didn’t help I smoked then. I just remember the pain and eating ramen noodles every meal for a couple weeks.

Not a wisdom tooth, but a broken tooth. I cracked one of my upper K9 or whatever they call them. It cracked all the way to the root. I could feel intense pain in mu sinus for a few days. Ended up going to an emergency dental care place because I didnt know any better. After two hours of work the dentist ended up breaking the half of my tooth that was above the gum line off. Rest was still anchored in my skull. By hour four of holding my mouth open and her butchering the job they went in to numb me some more and I waved them off. Told em to just finish the job.

It must be what getting tortured is like. I just lost the will to give a shit. Nerves were fried and I was emotionally drained.

No dry socket though and I dipped the next day.

My dad took them out.

Told me it was novocaine and that gas was for pussies. Had to cut out two of them.

"It's just pressure" he told me.

No dry sockets tho
Just did Nova and didn't think it was bad at all.

Didn't do all but will likely have more done now that I'm realizing how easy it was.

Dentists are the televangelists of the medical field. They'll do any procedure they can come up with to bill insurance for.

Had to beg mine just to extract the one and only got her to cave cuz of Wuhan Charlie.

Hoping to call back next week complaining about another one so I can at least get another bagged out before Dewine stops going full REEEE.

4 Wisdom teeth pulled by the Air Force 30 years ago. No issues.

Had a tooth crack and it needed removed in December. I elected not to replace it for the $4000 it was going to cost because you can't see it when I smile and it makes me feel like a regular at Dive bars with my pour friends.

I got mine done in the Marine Corps. Got my pain pills. Bought a fifth of vodka. Remember snorting like 5-7 oxycodone and drank the vodka. Like, the bottle. Totally wrecked

Next morning I'm looking for where I hid these pills because it was just a thing I did. I'd hide shit like that, although they were prescribed. Ended up finding them two months later up my ass. I said, no shit

I had the surgery, and felt so much better than expected after getting home that I decided to eat some spaghetti while the numbness was still there. Proceeded to chew to shreds the inside of both my cheeks during lunch while thinking I had the easiest surgery ever. But, I think I beat the system...two weeks of horrible pain in my cheeks as the least salty or spicy food touched them, but it completely made me forget about the pain where my wisdom teeth used to be.

I went through that myself a few years back. It was scary, to be honest. But, I also had a pretty easy time with the recovery.
I remember the day I had mine pulled like it was yesterday. I was so nervous because I'd heard horror stories from friends about how painful it was. But my dentist at the time assured me that it was going to be a breeze. And he was right! The whole process was over before I knew it and the after-effects were minimal.
If you're still in the process of getting the wisdom teeth all pulled, check out thehealthysmile.net. They have a ton of information on wisdom teeth removal and other dental procedures.
