For basketball you just can't compare centers with position players, its not fair.

Jordan/Magic
Wilt/Shaq
Brady/Montana
Ruth/Bonds
Barry/Walter
Brodeur/Roy
Gretzky/long way to the next
Tiger/Jack
Bowden/Saban
Sandberg/any other 2nd baseman.(very homer and ghey)

LeBron is a generational type talent and skill ball player noone will ever see again. This was what he was born to do. Hell he's 37 and two nights ago dropped a 32point triple double
And he had to change his teams twice if I remember right to win his first championship. And he is playing at a time when the are not a bunch of "greats" like there were when Jordan was in. Kind of like Floyd Mayweather Jr. For his time, the best.

Honestly don’t know why I didn’t think of LeBron from the beginning. He really did ruin his image with the political stuff and weighing in on public events with his dumbass opinions. Serves him right

Bailey Zappe in 2021 at Westerm Kentucky had the greatest single season of any QB in college. Not even close.
I looked at his numbers when he started getting PT with the Pats. Just unreal stats, but I never saw him play

Congratulations you named the Heat lineup. Don't forget Mario Chamblers.

Here some other player Pippen(HOF), Kukoc(HOF), Rodman(HOF),S. Kerr, B.Paxon, H. Grant, Ron Harper

Jordan had plenty of help too. Yeah he went to finals 6x. What happen with his other playoff appearances? LeBron went 10x with 8 being consecutive

Next week LeBron will pass Karem as the the all time leading scorer and he's currently 4th all time in assists

LeBron alienated people because he speaks out of social and political issues. Doesn't change the fact he's the greatest basketball player the game has ever seen

Bird,Jordan, Kobe and even players like Curry and Duncan are all in the same category

People only recognize Jordan as the 🐐 bc he was the first to brand himself to the public

Polictal views aside( which is why he gets no love) LeBron is the GOAT.. he's top 3 all time in points/rebounds/assists

All these ancient players like Wilt/Russell/Baylor all played against white guys with my skill level and didn't shoot the 3. Also they didn't have to play against/with the international guys

So many people who don't truly follow the game of basketball always jump on the Jordan bandwagon bc that's the brand they know

If reality he was just another modern day Harden. The seasons Pippen was hurt or absent, Jordan and the Bulls didn't even make the playoffs

LeBron is a generational type talent and skill ball player noone will ever see again. This was what he was born to do. Hell he's 37 and two nights ago dropped a 32point triple double
Did Wilt Chamberlain have any good competition in the NBA? Did anyone ever "lock him up" at a game?

Yes, Wilt Chamberlain faced very good competition, and there were fewer teams back then so the talent was less watered down. Contrary to popular opinion, the height of NBA centers was about the same when Wilt played as it is today (around 6′10″ on average). Wilt played in a Golden Era for centers and faced a number of all-time great NBA bigs. I have bolded the names of the bigs who would still be stars today, in my opinion.

  1. Swede Halbrook was 7′3″ and averaged 16.8 rebounds per 36 minutes.
  2. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar stood 7′2″ (an inch taller than Wilt). Kareem, the possessor of the fabled sky hook, is the all-time NBA points leader.
  3. Artis Gimore was 7′2″ and weighed 240 pounds. He had season highs of 24.6 points, 18.2 rebounds, 5.0 blocked shots and 3.9 assists. Gilmore was a monster who would physically dominate most modern centers. I’m not sure if Wilt ever faced Gilmore in the regular season, but they did play against each other in the NBA-ABA duel, and Gilmore is indicative of how good the best centers of his era were.
  4. Walter Dukes stood 7′1″ and was a beast on the boards, averaging 15.3 rebounds per 36 minutes.
  5. Ronald Taylor was 7′1″ and weighed 265 pounds. He averaged 14.2 points and 11.3 rebounds per 36 minutes.
  6. Elmore Smith was 7′0″ and weighed 250 pounds. He averaged 15.2 points, 12.3 rebounds and 3.6 blocks per 36 minutes.
  7. Tom Boerwinkle was 7′0″ and weighed a robust 265 pounds. Boerwinkle averaged 14.4 boards per 36 minutes.
  8. Mel Counts was 7′0″ and averaged 17.1 points and 12.5 rebounds per 36 minutes.
  9. Bill Russell, the NBA’s defensive GOAT, was 6′11″ and a great leaper. If rings are the thing, Bill Russell garnered 11 rings in 13 years. He is second only to Wilt in rebounds per game, with 22.5 for his career.
  10. Nate Thurmond at 6′11″ could still play center today. He was a beast on the boards, averaging 15 rebounds per game for his career.
  11. Walt Bellamy was 6′11″ and could still play center today. He averaged 20.1 points and 13.7 rebounds per game.
  12. Walt Wesley was 6′11″ and averaged 17.5 points and 11.3 rebounds per 36 minutes.
  13. Dennis Awtrey was 6′11″ and averaged 16.8 rebounds per 36 minutes.
  14. Willis Reed was 6′10″ and 235 pounds. He was probably a top 10 center when healthy.
  15. Bob McAdoo was 6′10″ and had season highs of 34.5 points, 15.1 rebounds, 3.3 blocks and 4.0 assists. He would have been a star in any era.
  16. Darrell Imhoff was 6′10″ and 235 pounds. He averaged 12.3 rebounds per 36 minutes.
  17. Bob Pettit was 6′9″ and averaged 26.4 points and 16.2 rebounds per game.
  18. Jerry Lucas was a 6′9″ 230-pound beast on the boards. He averaged 15.6 rebounds and 17.0 points for his NBA career.
  19. Elvin Hayes was 6′9″ and 235 pounds.
  20. Wes Unseld
  21. Zelmo Beaty
  22. Bob Lanier
  23. Dave Cowens
  24. Dolph Schayes
  25. Gus Johnson
  26. Bailey Howell
  27. Willie Naulls
  28. Red Kerr
  29. Paul Silas
  30. Spencer Haywood
  31. Luke Jackson
  32. Clyde Lee
  33. Wayne Embry
  34. LeRoy Ellis
  35. Ray Scott
  36. Bill Bridges
  37. Neal Walk
  38. Sam Lacey
We’d have a hard time finding as many bigs that tough today, I suspect. And especially not bigs who would be ready to stand toe-to-toe with the great Wilt Chamberlain. As Jerry West, who played with Wilt, observed, modern centers would be “embarrassed” by the Big Dipper.

Alots changed in 50years you don't need centers in today's game. Thats why Giannis and Jokic all shoot 30% from the 3. It's a completely different game

I'd say large in part bc of Curry.. everyone lives and dies by the 3 now

Just pointing out that he didn't play against a bunch of short, white stiffs. Him averaging 50ppg for the entire season with no 3 point line is pretty damn impressive.

So all you have is he didn't change teams? Got it. He went to the wizards

Neither did Kobe or Duncan
And Curry hasnt left the GSW. Are they better than Bron?

Grow the fuck up. Jordan would shut Curry Down. Lebron, before he became LeBitch would shut Curry down. Jordan was so good defensively that he is light years ahead of Curry.
As for best offensive player, Jordan shits on that too. The 3 wasn't a big thing in the 90s, what did Jordan do, hit 6 3s in the first half of a finals game, not to mention 43 points. There will never be another Jordan in our lifetime.

No. shit he played for the Wizards..............he was bored in "retirement"..........he said it himself

another thing...

anyone who says they are the best is not. Jordan would make Bron Bron fall on his face and look like an idiot.................just like he did everyone else.

same with Bron. When he left Cleveland they fell to the worse team in the league after just going to the finals against the Spurs.. the year he returned. He took them back to finals

So don't tell me teams didn't need HIS help. He was the team

Seeing some of the takes ITT proves that even though we are like minded against commie deep state scum, some of y'all are stupid as fuck when it comes to sports. Imagine being over 30 and thinking LeYuan is remotely close to being in GOAT consideration.
I know right. Crazy to think the all-time leading scorer can't be in consideration bc he doesn't walk around wearing a MAGA hat

Here is the thing on MJ vs Bron. If we pick teams and I get MJ and Kobe as my first 2 picks and you get to pick any 5 you want and then I pick whoever is left... I win a best of 7 series 99% of the time. Stats aren't wins.

No, no...it's more the fact that he's a cunt, needs to create super teams, shrinks at the game winning shot in the biggest moments, and flops like a bitch. Bailed on Cleveland to go to Heat to team up with Bosh and Wade, then when they became useless back to Cleveland with Kyrie and Kevin, then to LA and attempted to create an all star team yet still the result is trash minus the garbage covid season. Sure he is a Stat whore because he is a ball dominant player and runs everything through him.

You need to look at rules and how the games were called. Curry wouldn't be doing what he's doing in 1998. Lebron would be crying before the 1st quarter ended. It was a much more physical game and hand checking was good defense and there were enforcers on every team for in case shit got too physical.

Jordan would destroy him permanently. He wouldno longer even want to touch a basketball, and in fact might ask permission from Jordan to even step foot on a court ever again...........do you even watch basketball?

Gretzky/doesn't matter
100%.............. i remember years ago they did a comparison between Jerry Rice and The great One...........the math is equal to if Rice had 90000 yards total..........Rice actually had under 30k........so the greatest, x3....should have put him on the my list
