-"America First" candidate Kelly Tshibaka (R-AK) takes huge primary lead over Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-AK), per polling from *both* camps:
Tshibaka 45%
Murkowski 29%
-This will be a ranked-choice election in November, following a pointless jungle primary. Essentially, the person who gets 50% wins.
-Murkowski allies pushed these changes in election law to help keep her in power fearing she would lose a conventional primary, or to a third party (MAGA) candidate in November.
-However, Murkowski has never reached 50% in any of her general election wins in her career.
-If Tshibaka holds nearly a 20% lead over Murkowski - and touching 50% - this early in the race, it's likely the mid-40s is her floor.
This is going to be good. Probably one of the best races this year.
