Those are huge. I bought the elephant ear bulbs and whatever the one below it in red is at costco about a month ago and planted them in a bed beneath some shitty little scrub oaks. Do they all get that big or were those an exception? I had no idea they got that big.....but it's on our fence line in line with the pool so they may get as big as the trees....but I'm going to love the privacy aspect. Plus those look cool.When I lived in NOLA I noticed elephant ears everywhere. In fact they’re in your first pic. My mom has them back home in her backyard by the pool and they take sun aaallllllll day all year. Never a lick of shade.
I expect to be invited to the first major cookout.

There are multiple varieties of elephant ears(caladium) We had some at the house I grew up in that were well over 6ft tall. I believe they are sold in nurseries as ‘giant’ elephant ears.

Can’t tell for sure from the picture, but it looks like wild garlic. Could be wild union. You can usually tell by the smell. They are bulb plants. The safest thing would be to pull them by hand and make sure you get the bulb. Hopefully they don’t come back. You could try spot spraying them with weed killer, but you have to be careful around your other plants, of course. If you haven’t planted yet, you can spray before planting. Scorched earth with long acting weed killer. Wait a week or two then plant. Also not a bad idea to add weed barrier. Hope that helps.
