• Pat Flood (@rebarcock) passed away 9/21/25. Pat played a huge role in encouraging the devolopmemt of this site and donated the very first dollar to get it started. Check the thread at the top of the board for the obituary and please feel free to pay your respects there. I am going to get all the content from that thread over to his family so they can see how many people really cared for Pat outside of what they ever knew. Pat loved to tell stories and always wanted everyone else to tell stories. I think a great way we can honor Pat is to tell a story in his thread (also pinned at the top of the board).

How’s your local weather?

84 degrees and 77% humidity for a heat index of 96 at 8:30 PM. Not as bad as it will get

We've had a couple over 100 so far but really hasn't been too bad.
Every year it gets harder and harder out in the high heat. 1st year in 30 I haven't been in it all day everyday. Getting hurt sucked but it is nice not getting so hot and dirty every fucking day. I hate office work though so.....
It's air conditioning. When I was a kid, we had a window unit in the living room and didn't have it in the rest of the house. Now we live in AC, work in AC, shop in AC and drive in AC.

Marshmallow soft. Comfortable, but soft.

We had cars in SC til prob 1984 that had no ac as a kid. It was a but brutal. I remember summer 1981 seemed like hell on earth

@Rebarcock. You ever seen it rain this consistently here. Usually you get a break with hurricanes.
Pool was down 4-5" about to overflow

I heard St James by McClellanville EBS. Theyre expecting 2ft rise over flood level won't recede til wed.
Damn storm is huge on radarnow app.
Milwaukee is flooding now too.
And no, this is unusual is duration and amount.

It seems you SC folks have had a target on your backs for a while for TDs,TSs, hurricane and just overall heavy rain.
Hell, it looks like Erin might try to visit your neighborhood as well. How far above avg. is the rainfall this season?

Idk about totals I'll take a look cause I was curious also. Length of afternoon storm is high. Morning storms are more frequent. I believe the cycle of storms are moving from Florida to here. Don't think Erin will hit us either.
